QUEBEC, Canada brahs GTFIH - clown premier 'bans' Christmas gatherings

To make a long story short, apparently the provincial government now saw fit to 'ban' Christmas gatherings this year, whereas they were previously considering allowing up to 10 people December 24-27. Despite this entire covid experience being a general clown show, I had been taking it in stride up till now. This is the final straw, the one that breaks the proverbial camel's back for me. How can they not foresee that this will cause so many more problems than it can prevent? Mental health problems already spike around the holidays. Isolation has been rampant since this entire covid business began. Now, to suggest that already isolated people can't even take a break and see their families? We're about to see a lot more mental health problems and a definite spike in suicides.

We'll shortly be talking about how to attend funerals virtually in the new year. That will be the outcome of this.

For my fellow QC brahs, how are you handling this? I'm disregarding it completely and I'm still visiting my folks on Christmas. It's not like 5 different households are getting together in one place. It's literally myself, my brother, and my parents. That's it. That's the only family I have left.

Apologies for the rant, but the ridiculousness of it all has finally gotten to me. I have a very hard time dealing with stupid bullschit like this. Absolutely no critical thinking going into this whatsoever.

For your time...

Are they going to have police visit and ticket every house in the province on the same day?

Compliance is up to you. If there is a law saying no gatherings I'll pick my parents up and park in the garage, srs.

Compliance is up to you.
They're encouraging neighbours to rat you out. Imagine that. Because you're a fear-mongering covid coward that chose to comply, you passive aggressively call the cops on one of your neighbours out of searing jealousy.

Irrelevant is a nice way of putting it, because it absolutely is.

Cop comes to the door and asks who lives there and who's visiting - what are you legally required to do? Any misc lawyers or police officers in here?

It's supposedly a 300$ fine. I'll risk the fine, no problem at all. I live pretty far out and I'm quite isolated myself. My family has been through a lot this past year, so it's really important for us to get together. I couldn't give any less of a flying fuk what their 'fine' is. They can shove it up their collective as$holes.

Do you think police are going to be able to keep up/ deal with the headaches of people denying gatherings, etc?

If you're not a coward, look at your neighbors in the eye as you escort your family in, then deny police entry into your house. They won't be able to do chit.

I’d take the fine - get a lighter and then burn it in front of them and throw it out into the snow srs - then possibly piss on the ashes in front of them depending on how angry I was

That's what I'm thinking. I'll be sipping my bourbon listening to my Bing Crosby while they're going door to door on xmas eve instead of spending time with their own families. That actually makes me feel really bad for them. What a fuking job. I've worked on xmas before and it was really depressing. If I invited the cops in, it would be for a glass of bourbon dead srs.

Or just roll it up real tight, turn around, pull my pants down, and just slowly insert it up my unwashed bung and never lose eye contact.

Yeah we have trucks designed to shovel roads and then machines that shovel walkways/sidewalks

We also have trucks that drive up and down roads, highways and dump salt on them - same with sidewalks and walkways

So the first snowfall is sweet but then it just becomes a dirty salty mess

Its always the liberal progressive areas that constantly bring about draconian measures and anti-freedom regulations.

Canada, UK, NZ, Aus, Western EU, California, NY state and other Blue states are all liberal progressive places that have instituted harsh lockdowns and introduced new laws to remove rights and freedoms.

They also have large populations who conspire to rat each other out and want bigger government. Where the government MUST provide a solution.

This sounds, looks and feels like Communism pure and simple and how it starts.

If this were airborne ebola and people were bleeding out their eyeballs and dying no one would have to tell us to wear a mask or stay at home....

Doing all this for a flu with 99% survival rate, what has the world come to...
-Some people say good things come to those who wait, truth is, good things come to those who work..... who work later.....who work harder...... who are willing to go further than anyone else to get them. If you're waiting for good things to come to you, you'll be waiting for a pretty long time.
