you'd have to do sets of 30 with 135 to keep growing when you are more advanced

Correct

Bodybuilding isn't about plate weight, it's about effectively contracting/relaxing and range of motion

You don't need to pick up 100lbs dumbbells to get big

I stopped adding weight once I got to two plates.

If you can't hit 100kg though, people are loling at your chest game no matter what the chit looks like.

Maybe once I can hit 15 reps for 3 set I'll add more weight but I stopped programming to add weight to that movement.

If u wanna lift 300lbs plus then sure go ahead why not whose stopping you.

But remember a few things.

1) how long u gonna keep that up for lumpy?
2) good luck eating a lot and being tired all the time
3) say hi to your next injury
4) this is ur life focus, congrats yes but see how u keep it up

Literally so many buff guys just stick to one wheel on each side and use that for squats/upright row/shoulder press/bor/bench press

And move on with their life. No one cares about anything more than that. Guess what? They are strong and ripped and fit

More or less agree with this logic. A lot of brahs really focus on bench and neglect the other major plyometrics too, which always makes me lol.

You ain't squat if you ain't squat.

A lot of ****s who put on a lot of weight aren't even doing proper form. This is especially true with dumbbells where tons of guys don't take advantage of the range of motion they have.

You'll get much better results if you just stick to a weight you can do with perfect form.
It was all just satire. Sorry if I offended anyone with my trolling and sickening posts. Peace and love to everyone.

Agreed with the above poster too. People use lots of weight to raise their blood pressure and use that to move it along with chit form. Meanwhile ripped physique is using one wheel totally not breathless and enjoying it.

Bench is overrated as fuk anyway, heavy weighted dips and weighted push ups are where it's at.

Haven't benched in well over a year tbh.

I love weighted dips but a good bench session is still top tier for a chest size.

Lifting one plate, two or three

the question is:
What’s your range of motion? does the bar touch your chest or is it a half rep?

How many reps and sets do u do? 3 x3 ?? or 4 sets x 12 reps?

unless you’re a competitve powerlifer, no one gives a fk what’s your 1RM SBD JFL

Form combined with real effort is what grows muscle. You can do 75 lbs on a bench and grow. Go to failure in a high rep range for ten sets gives me better results than worrying about the weight or reps or long rest periods.

this. static barbell hand placement is a pretty unnatural movement on your joints. dumbbells are not only safer, but more effective imo. and you can go heavy as fuk to failure and just drop them, don't need a spotter.

That's pretty strong for working sets though (if natural...mediocre only if teching). It's in a completely different league to using 135lbs for working sets.

As for flat barbell bench. IMO it's a great exercise that has it's place in a well rounded routine. I just wouldn't do it more than once a week for many of the reasons others have mentioned. Flat barbell bench has greater loading potential than dumbbells but it is very unforgiving on your joints when your form breaks down, even on lighter sets.

The best way to use flat barbell bench is to avoid extremes. Use a moderate width grip and elbow flare. Arch your upper back enough so that you don't need to destroy your shoulders to bring the bar down to your torso. As far as programming goes if you're doing a routine with 2 push days per week, start one of those days with flat barbell bench and the other with flat dumbbell press.

It's not cope, people don't grow muscle because they don'teator train consistently

It's feather weight according to the misc

Look at the dude above me talking about people benching 400-500lbs even though 85% of the male population will never strict press 300lbs+ without gear because of height/bone limiting mass

eating food is the easiest part. you eat 4-5k a day and train like a pussy you’ll look like a skinny fat *******

the secret to getting bigger with minimal fat gain is strengthening the compound movements. (obviously genetics as well)

towards a point the muscles can’t engorge with water anymore, you need to build real muscle tissue.
