TFW just got a security infraction

Instant cliffs......

- A company wide email went out this morning saying that the company is taking the mask requirement VERY seriously
- Email also said that company security would be enforcing this requirement
- Musk brah goes to Starbucks, grabs egg bites and iced green tea
- I return to the office, and shoot chit with coworkers in our every day open work environment while periodically pulling my mask down to take a sip of my drink or pop an egg bite into my face
- One hour later I and the rest of the crew from the Starbucks run receive an email saying corporate security has been watching the security cameras, that we have violated the mask policy and that all eating and drinking onsite must be done alone in an enclosed privacy room in the office.

brb thought "security would be enforcing this requirement" meant they wouldn't let the extreme employee just walk in without masks anymore, not that they'd be watching the security cameras like we're at Best Buy on Black Friday.

brb can't roll my mask down to take a sip, but they've been watching me post big teddied Asians and other HTC bishes on Misc all day. Strong

If it makes you feel any better two weeks ago my buddy and I got written up for riding in a truck together without masks on. Our bosses know the mask chit is overblown af but one of the few superintendents taking it seriously emailed the higher ups about seeing us.
My boss was literally making jokes with his about it as he wrote us up, letting us know that it was total bs.

This is also after city wide mandatory testing that we’ve both tested negative multiple times.

none of these policies even factor in immunity from people already having it.

if you have antibodies they still require you to wear a mask

Yeah....my manager is across town at another place. They called me right after and sighed with an OMG after I explained what happened. Chit is crazy. The security crew that sent this is at another office building. We don't have assigned seats at this particular office so in order for them to know who we were, they would have had to look at the floor plan, find our section, pull our desk reservations and then look up our management. Seems like overkill for some dipchits sipping on their *******y Starbucks.

In the many COVID 19 meetings we've had, my company has made it very clear that they're oblivious about this chit and are more concerned about providing the illusion of peace of mind.



My office is set up like that ^ and they have every other desk and chair covered in plastic so nobody sits there. But then they had too many of us come back into the office and now *******s are crammed in conference rooms....Chit is weird, but I guess we've just gotta stick it out.

Sounds like companies are just taking advantage of what is going on so they can start paper trails of bogus (but on paper - a reason) to start firing people and rehiring at lower wages or with added tasks to the job.

Companies do this all the time, even if you are a great employee. They'd love to have the power to "legitimately" be able to fire you at any time.

I don't work for any company or job that has any sort of micromanagement. Imagine being told how, when, and where to eat and drink.

Its a form of control for the company.

Like when they make you wear hard hats+gloves+safety glasses when clearly none is needed, just because policy says so.

Most safety stuff gets turned into a form of punishment/control. Its one of the few ways employers can legally "get you".



Even if your boss "jokes" when you get warned, best believe its recorded so if you for whatever reason anger them they have cause to terminate.

I'm glad I work somewhere where we don't put up the ***gotry. We never shut down and nobody here has gotten sick. We put some hand sanitizer beside the coffee pot lol. I guess we were too busy trying to get stuff done and make money to worry about the shanghi shivers.

lol. I'd quit the moment my employer gave me some poverty office setup like that. Can't believe we do that to adults, reminds me of my 8th grade technology class.

My old employer did that too, but had 'half walls' separating people. I left about a month before everyone moved in, they offered me a crazy counter offer, but no private office, and no amount of money is worth being treated like a 14 year old. This is what I told them during the exit interview as well.

Everyone at my company was working from home for the quarantine, and once it was lifted we were allowed back, but you had to wear a mask, but it was also pretty laid back and chill. You could eat lunch together as long as you were sitting 6 feet apart. However, in the last few months it has evolved. Now only 50% of the office can be in at a time. You are not allowed to leave your office in any capacity unless your mask is on. If anyone comes into your office to talk you need to stop and put your mask on. You cannot eat food outside of your office, nor can you drink coffee outside your office. You must scan for your temperature upon walking into the main office. You must sign in and declare you have no symptoms upon walking into the office every day. In a conference room everyone must be wearing a mask correctly and capacity is 25%. You must wear your mask in the bathroom and when no one is even here. You also must get nasal swabbed for COVID every week before, regardless if you are working from home or not that week.

The position is still open. They hired someone else but apparently he/she/it didn't work out. It just got posted again a month ago, same job description, one of my old coworkers told me about it a few days ago. Funny enough the posted pay range is $1k less than I was making 3 years ago as well. Going to take quite a while to fill that slot with a good employee I'd imagine.

My company tried to come up with a bunch of ridiculous rules & mandates... And by my company I mean the head safety clam trying to justify her $hitty safety job , LOLz... She sent out this long elaborate email and everybody basically deleted it promptly without even reading it. We have about 100-120 employees in this building and have had ZERO cases of Schmovid since it was a thing. Still trying to figure out what made this dumb kent decide to go overboard 9 months down the road
