Seasons Overs. Lets see what tags were filled Hunter Misc.....(city cucks stay out)

My oldest turned 10 this year and we signed him up for the apprenticeship program which lets 10 and 11 years olds hunt deer and upland birds before they are old enough to take hunters safety. He successfully tracked, located and harvested a large 3 point on state land. Proud dad moment. I filled mine with a decent 4 point. We still have a general elk tag but my freezer is so full right now I wouldn't have room for it.





And the mount I made for his buck

Congrats to you son! That's a big accomplishment. I'm jelly of y'all's hunting in Montana. My cousin, she lives in Kalispell, has been trying to get me to come up and elk hunt with her. I think I might actually have the time this year to do it. Nice mount.

Elk are amazing. Some tough hunting up in Kalispell. Bring some good boots. We got up to our spot around 6am and we could hear the elk bugling to each other. Such a awesome experience to be in the middle of it. Make sure you do it. It will be an experience you never forget even if you don't get one.

Put in 30+ days so far, got one of the biggest bucks I’ve had on my cams these past 5 years. Nice 11 pointer. Out in the blind right now. Cool mount, I like Europeans

I mostly deer hunt now days to sit out in the woods alone and watch the animals. I only shoot if it's a monster. Probably gonna change that this year since I absolutely love venison and need some more. After next week gonna spend about a week straight in the woods. Covid screwed up my dove and turkey season this past year but I plan on hitting the turkeys hard come March. Once deer season goes out I'll night hunt hogs until turkey season hits. I shoot those destructive azzholes for fun

BRB making some tag soup this year, just got a new 40 acres of land to hunt in northern Mn this year, cut down 10 trees last weekend to make room for the food plot going in this summer, cant wait for 2021 season

Thoughts on hunting big game in bear/wolf infested mountain ranges with an AR-10? The more I think about it the more I like the idea. It breaks down so nice and fits in a pack. Weight is pretty similar. Follow up shots are as easy as it gets. Good self defense w/ 20 round mags. I've got one in .308 and 6.5 creed and they are damn close as accurate as my bolt guns.

i have always wondered when you break it down and pack it, reassemble, do you check your zero? they never done that in movies. i always thought, how the phuck does he know he is zeroed

I like the idea but then again I rarely have to take a shot more than a couple hundred yards so accuracy isn't nearly as important to me. What kind of side arm you carry?

such is hunting in the dirty south. i am zeroed at 100 and i have only ever held just low.

I really like a traditional bolt action rifle for hunting. The weight/balance is just superior to an AR style platform, less likely to snag on brush, carries better on a sling and it just has more 'soul' to it... If that matters.


If I lived somewhere with bear/wolves and wanted a faster ROF. And hunting big game like deer/elk with ranges up to say 500 yards. I'd seriously consider a Browning BAR Mark II Safari in 300 Win Mag.

The scope is anchored to the upper so zero should hold.

My optics are all long range with 24x. 2.1 MOA at 200 yards, 3.6 at 300 yards and so on up to 600 yards.

I might try packing my AR10 next year or during this elk shoulder season. The only thing I dont like is how much noise the bolt makes when you bring it forward and im not a fan of hiking with a loaded rifle

Just rock condition 1 like you would a 1911. Round chambered with safety engaged.

AR10 fits pretty well in my pack. I think I'll give it a go this Sunday on my shoulder season elk hunt. About a 3 mile hike in so it will be nice to be hands free getting there.
