Bulking/trap growth has given me sleep apnea?
For a while now Ive had this problem where I wake up during occasionally during the night, dry throat, gasping for air and water. Again in the morning I wake up with a really dry throat. My girlfriend has commented on my snoring and how i'll "stop breathing" and choke on my own tongue pretty frequently when I am staying at hers. Before this, I didn't know how bad the issue had got.
All signs point to sleep apnea, but I don't want to look like a freak having to hook myself up to a machine every night. I also have a bad habit of lying flat down on my front, not really using any pillows when I sleep.
If I lost some weight and tried elevating my head, could this sort the problem out without having to take a more serious medical route? Have any of you had sleep apnea when you've been at a higher body fat %? At my biggest I was a little over 220lbs and over 20% body fat, If I cut down to around 200 and 12 - 15% bodyfat would this sort the issue out?

Starting weight 130lbs
Current stats: 6"2, 210lbs.
The 8th and final rule: If this is your first night at Gym Club....... you have to squat.

Maybe. My dad had sleep apnea really bad and when he lost weight, he was able to get off the machine. I have a 16 3/4" neck even though I'm only 186 lbs., and my apnea was bad enough I had to get on the machine or my wife was going to sleep in another room, lol.
I was able to take a machine home from my Dr.s office and hook up a couple of pads on my chest and put a tube under my nose, 2 or 3 nights of that was enough for the test to let them know what I had as far as apnea. Good luck.

I would wake up gasping for air every blue moon but lately its been nightly and I have started snoring big time. My sinuses are always blocked and since I usually breath through my nose I have been gasping for air a lot lately. I think for me its that coupled with some weight gain post show but I am about the same weight I was before I started cutting so I find it hard to believe its that.

enjoy your stay, its only getting started .... yearly declining IQ and cognitive impairment are in order. the major tendodinitis and gym muscles loss will be felt shortly
in all seriousness dude its hell especially if you have to do mental work , you're at a great disadvantage compared to some ******* that sleeps the whole night.
youre solutions is
loose weigh until visible abs.
do resistance breathing exercises and dont sleep on your back. the trade off is pec and shoulder problems tho.
major tip: you want to drain as much energy as possible during the day. what works for me is walking on the incline treadmill for 40-50 minutes everyday with a heart rate of 130-160 bpm.
im serious... that low impact cardio is the only thing keeping me alive
Like im literally trapped and have to do this everyday

Sleep apnea crew. I too thought that if I just lost weight it would resolve itself. It did not.
I highly recommend that you get a sleep test. I had mine at home rather than going in overnight to be monitored.
I have had a CPAP machine for 2.5 years now. It definitely takes some getting used to, but it is a life-changer. I have more energy and no 'brain fog'.
