The funniest part about the no stars argument is that these people are claiming the US government was clever enough to pull off the most elaborate hoax in history while at the same time being dumb enough to forget to include stars in the fake pictures (if they were supposed to be there).

Not sure I understand the post, but there is stuff up there left from the Apollo missions, just can’t see it with a telescope on earth.

Moon landings, well documented history, not supernatural, backed by vast evidence? SKEPTICAL TO THE MAX!

(could also replace moon landings here with something like biological evolution). Contrast is hilarious.
It's backed by so many discrepancies that can't be refuted. That's why all of the pro moon landing guys here resort to calling names and assuming the high ground, they can't refute what's been presented so its basically "source: just trust me bro. ur an idiot". That's not getting us anywhere.

I don't know if we did or didn't go at all, I do know that the footage and some of (if not all) the photos were faked.

I totally believe that we sent a rover there. I do believe that. I'll give them that much.

What I don't believe, is that those men walked on the surface of the moon.
There's just too much evidence to say otherwise, and too many discrepancies for me to fully commit to the suspension of disbelief. I'm too analytical, I pay too much attention to detail and I know those men, after the fact, didn't have the correct body language or behaviors. From NASA "losing the technology", to the moon rocks ending up not being moon rocks at all, all the obviously edited photos that were passed off as real.

I liken it to the wrestling business. To a degree, it's real as it can be. There are people who make sure the show goes on. Brilliant minds coming together to achieve a common goal. There's just one caveat, it's a work. They're actually taking lumps out there (they're actually sending a craft to the moon) but it's choreographed and the winner is decided beforehand (those men didn't actually walk the surface, but we did get a craft there)

There was plenty of incentive for the US to fake sending humans on the moon, and it could have been done so easily, considering they actually got a craft there.
U aware?

You aren’t being too analytical here at all....you are just trying to repeat addressed-to-death hoaxer talking points (lost technology, fake moon rock, etc), betraying that in fact you’ve barely looked into any of this beyond a superficial level. Many of these items were addressed in this very thread.

So you believe that the people who were apparently competent enough to pull of a hoax involving hundreds of thousands of people were also simultaneously incompetent enough to release “obviously edited” photos?

Lol oh right...that’sthe reason we can’t see those Apollo artifacts.

edit: to the above poster, explained more simply

-If we never went to the moon, you wouldn’t be able to see the artifacts with telescopes.
-If we went to the moon, you wouldn’t be able to see the artifacts with telescopes.

Now given you can’t see the artifacts with a telescope...hmm what can we then conclude? nothing.

However, based on all kinds of other available evidence, it’s not difficult to understand we went to the moon.

The blueprint thing

-this mysterious story is not substantiated. There is all kinds of blueprints and documentation of Saturn V still on microfilm and in storage, per NASA.
-There are multiple examples of full, original Saturn V’s on literal display in museums
-No one is trying to build, or would want to build a full saturn v nowadays using 60s technology and parts, requiring 60’s infrastructure among other things, that’s not how it works.

This is a discussion about NASA SAYING there are blueprints but for people who have seen them, they don't really say anything. They are like Part A goes into Part B.

It says what I have been saying REPEATEDLY that the US government, that keeps thousand page documents on the private lives of celebrities, let NASA THROW TOGETHER the moon rocket, with no control, no documentation, and they let them throw all the stuff away, and sell it for scrap, after the most amazing adventure and technological event in the history of humanity.

What you're saying is what I think.

The moon landing is some kind of truth/lie combo.

I don't believe that what was said to be done there was actually done.

That is why we have the "Earth Rocks" and the entire things is downplayed massively. Also, the whole idea that no one has gone there from other countries and even has trouble landing probes, which is only being done now, half a century later, is odd.

Reread the three points in my post you quoted: none of them have changed.

Barely worth responding to the drivel, but here goes:

You posted an askmetafilter question, and stackexchange question (note the response agreeing with what I said, particularly that leading stackexchange answer).

The TIMES article from way back in 87 is saying all kinds of things, just casual journalism I suppose, including
'But we found the stuff we needed: all of our planning, our drawings and specifications, and a lot of the tooling drawings. When somebody says something is missing, they're probably right. But we've got boxes and boxes of stuff, basically everything needed to get started again.'' Inventory of Documents

Jim Sahli, a spokesman at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., where the rocket was designed, said that although the tooling was indeed gone, many of the blueprints remained. ''What we don't have here, we have at a depository in Atlanta,'' he said. In the past year, Marshall has performed a detailed inventory of its Saturn documents.
Seems like they have all kinds of documentation left, just in various storage areas...probably not every last piece of documentation...but who knows.

None of this relevant to the fact we went to the moon for the record.

We have literal full examples of the Saturn V, if someone really wanted to reverse engineer various things without even going to the documents, I mean it’s possible (but there are all kinds of reasons why NASA isn’t rebuilding full 60s rockets that were built with 60s technology).

Actually an example of an old F-1 (that huge rocket engine you see on the bottom of the Saturn V) was essentially reverse engineered into a derivative F-1B meant for the SLS.

Here is a very thorough article on it:

https://arstechnica.com/science/2013...to-life/?amp=1

Note the article also agreeing with what I said saying the Saturn and F-1 documentation not lost.

Whatever you are going on about is just debunked talking points and has no relevance to the moon landing anyway.

Why wouldn’t they admit it, if data from a far off nebula or galaxy is captured in an electro magnetic range other than visible light (NASA has probes that solely capture infrared and ultraviolet, microwave emr), the only way to represent the data in the visible spectrum is through filters. Of course the nebula wont actually look like that to us because we can only see a very narrow part of the spectrum and cant see UV microwave or infrared emr. The visible light images of these objects alone would be quite unremarkable due to the distances involved, you need the rest of the spectrum to get a good picture. NASA never tried to mislead anyone on these, each image says if it is in visible light or a compilation of other wavelengths. Very different from claiming that the moon landing photos (which were taken with a standard camera in visible light) were faked.

Can we talk about another NASA conspiracy?

How about the time the Columbia was destroyed because of damage that was cause by foam?

It's strange, they can think of everything to get to the moon, but a piece of foam hitting the shuttle at take off was all it took to damage the craft to cause its ultimate demise.

What are you trying to say here?

Space travel is dangerous and accidents can happen. This happened during the Apollo program too; look up Apollo 1.

Barely worth responding to the drivel, but here goes:

You posted an askmetafilter question, and stackexchange question (note the response agreeing with what I said, particularly that leading stackexchange answer).

The TIMES article from way back in 87 is saying all kinds of things, just casual journalism I suppose, including
What a f@cking coward you are.
If you want to ask me a question:

He's been busted for frauding about his life, refuses to acknowledge posts that call his claims into question, resorts to deflections and insults when someone doesn't believe him (for good reason), and he has the nerve to call others a coward?

FFS, he said he can't defend himself because he's a registered weapon. He said he squatted 1000lbs. He said one of his jobs was to keep the criminally insane (not in jail) in check. He claims his life is a Chinese curse. He claims vaccines were invented by "Big Mohammed." I could use him as a case study for mental illness.

0% chance he addresses this post's points.
