Existing Drug Found Highly Effective For COVID

I've been reading reports of this medication being widely used in other countries (mostly SA).

Now a US physician has testified about it to the Senate:

The drug is called ivermectin and it has previously been prescribed as a medication to treat infection with parasites.

Dr. Kory chides the NIH for failing to explore existing medications and for focusing their efforts on expensive new drugs instead. He says that they have found this drug to be a potent anti-viral and powerful anti-inflammatory.

- highly effective as a prophylactic, supported by 4 large randomized trials
- when trialed on infected outpatients reduced hospitalizations and deaths, 3 trials
- claims there is an even greater effect in improving outcomes of those who are hospitalized

He essentially describes the drug as miraculous and begs the NIH to review the studies that he and his group have submitted.

This claim about the coronavirus has been disputed.

So you’re saying covid isn’t worth ruining the entire country over? But the liberals are telling me people will be piled up dead in the street if we don’t wear masks, take a vaccine shot, and implement communism immediately. Liberals don’t ever lie do they?

There have been tons of drugs like this. They don't care. Having a drug that could cure defeats the entire purpose of generating hysteria over the virus in the first place.

I started taking licorice extract early to prevent srs infection. Plenty of antivirals work.

I think sending every citizen a peleton bike with a 2-year subscription would have improved damage from the virus more than all other measures combined.

This guy needs to take a few deep breaths.

That is what was implied by the doctor who is testifying. He is a pulmonologist and also an associate professor.

Also why I made this a post. I'm not interested in getting a rushed vaccine, and particularly a mrna vaccine.

Yes and I've read of some people using the animal drug, however a poster just brought up that there is an ingredient in the animal version that can have negative effects on humans.

The claim that existing drugs were ignored, or that ivermectin is effective?

- new type vaccine never approved for humans before
- you may still be able to get infected/spread the virus (they say they don't know)
- you may only have temporary protection (again, they say they don't know)

Also I don't have any of the associated pre-existing conditions . Have low vit D, but I'm trying to supplement for that.

There are several different variations (cydectin, dectomax etc) but it’s well known ivermectin is the most human friendly. It’s a pour on treatment for cattle which are much thicker hided than humans and works great. I’ve gotten a lot on my skin over the years working cattle and have never had an issue. That said having had covid I found it to be minor enough that even spraying a cattle medication on my arm was unnecessary.

The doctor makes a powerful case from what he has observed that ivermectin is something to use against COVID. I hope it get used then. Sounds like it could save many lives.

I hope too it doesn't become overly political and attacked, or the Lancet publishes fake studies saying the drug is dangerous. I looked it up and the cost for Ivermectin isn't that high. My guess is if it doesn't make much money, it's likely to come under attack by health care officials.

At treating covid patients...Their is a study with both drugs alongside natural supps(vit c,zinc, etc) plus erythromycin(Z-pack) and it showed ivermectin more effective in treating covid patients in both mild and severe groups

Good call OP. I heard about Ivermectin months ago, and wondered what ever came of it. Wondering if I should use my VPN to research it through another country.
