May actually be worth it if you make good money. Driving eats up your time and there is a risk of covid and getting in an accident.

I understand where op is coming from. I had a girl deliver my food and she was on the phone the whole time. Handed me the bag and walked off. I asked her where’s the other bag because the one she gave me had 1/2 sharpied on it. She gave a dumb look and got off the phone. Dumb sloot left my second bag at the restaurant. I contacted Waitr and told them don’t ever assign her to my deliveries again in life.

No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.

I ordered for first time today and I didn't even see the driver. They even somehow avoided my cameras and it's motion sensing. Saw it was delivered and said bullchit but there was a pic with it at my door and sure enough it was there. No motion alerts sent when they arrived nor when they left. Was it delivered by a ghost? Even ghosts set off the motion detectors sometimes.

Boom hour passes wondering my food never showed up

Brb driver never made any attempt to inform the customer the order had arrived.

You know they do that crap on purpose too
these are the types I'm talking about. They're only supposed to drop it off at the door and leave it if YOU requested that. That was a lazy, chitty employee and the type that deserves to be reported and I hope you called customer service and got a refund for cold food that's been sitting out for an hour.

but you still should have got a text saying your order is complete or the driver is approaching

I Dash on occasion, and I consider it a win if the customer never even sees me deliver the food (assuming it's a no-contact delivery). Going by what other Dashers say on reddit and the ******** group, this seems to be a common attitude. I guess we all come to the same conclusion that having as little interaction with the customer as possible is the best thing.

TBH, that's all your fault.

Disclaimer: I've only used DoorDash and I occasionally deliver for DoorDash as well. If you're not talking about DoorDash here, then disregard.

I personally only knock or ring the bell if the customer asks me to. Otherwise, I just drop it off and move onto the next delivery.

The DoorDash app tells you an estimate on how long the delivery is going to take, alerts you when your food is picked up, alerts you when the dasher is on his or her way, alerts you when the dasher is in your neighborhood, and alerts you when the dasher makes the delivery. On top of that, you ordered the food so you should be expecting food. If you forget, that's your fault. If you're not monitoring your phone for alerts, again, that's your fault.

Pro-tip: if you want your food quick, make sure you tip well. The only dashers you'll get for a low tip/no tip delivery would be the newbies. Eventually we learn not to take an order below a certain amount (usually $1/mile ... my personal limit is $8). Your low ball order will just bounce around in the system until some sucker accepts it ... which could be never if it's late at night at which point your order will be canceled. It's amazing how many people out there expect to have their food delivered for free.

Indeed. You're supposed to hand the food to the customer unless the customer requests no-contact.

Due to a common scam of claiming non delivery, I actually position my car so that my dash cam has a clear line of sight of me handing the food to the customer so I have actual proof of delivery.
