Stone Temple Pilots -- Scott Weiland GOAT

STP IMO was one of the best bands of the 90s. Weiland easily one of the GOAT lead singers. He even sings GnR songs better than Axl.

Saw STP a few times and when Velvet Revolver first got together they played a small club. Opened with It's So Easy from Appetite, no joke no comparison in talent to Axl, blows him off of the stage and I have seen GnR a few times.

Watched this last night, this was basically the end of STP and Weiland still had it.

Easily one of the most underrated bands of the 90s.

Velvet Revolver was the first concert I went to. Can confirm, great vocals and he was definitely a showman on stage.

STP has some GOAT tracks. Core was great. I think the other one I liked was called purple or something.

Absolutely right about Weiland being a showman! STP was my first outdoor concert and first post-grunge/grunge band I got to see before lead singer died (Chris Cornell, Chester Bennington RIP)

Actually not a set list just my personal faves lol

They did play Crackerman! Opened with Wicked Garden, played my top 2 back/back, and let fan do intro on megaphone for Dead & Bloated. GOAT concert experience out of the many I've been to...and I'd say STP isn't even my favorite band of the ones I've seen.

I was locked up in San Luis Obispo county jail in the mid-90s, and I met a guy who claimed to be Scott Weiland. He was confined to his cell, he gave me a phone number to prove his claim and when I was moved to another location within the jail with a phone, I called the number and it was a listing in Orange County, just as he had claimed.

I still don’t know for sure if it was really him, but I’m like 60/100 convinced it was really him.

Yep, he was one of a kind and a through-the-roof vocal talent and musical talent as well when you consider his solo stuff is also great.
Was a sad day when he died.

I still listen to his stuff.

I still think the Velvet Revolver show I attended was the best show I've ever attended, and I've been to nearly 100.

I saw Stone Temple Pilots in 2008 at the Paso Robles mid state fair, Scott Weiland was the singer.

I was a teen in the mid 90s and can tell you STP was far from underrated. But they are very good. Heard a story from STP's bassist detailing how he and Scott would still go fishing together up until the end. That's the kind of chit to let you know it's all genuine.

Love STP. Saw them in Las Vegas during my honeymoon in 94. Greatest band since Led Zeppelin.
