A Srs question for all miscers. Trolls stay the phuck out
Anyone here ever reached a point in their life where they just said phuck all. Took off and started a new life some where?
I am 46 i just had a son who i love more than anything and i want to see him raised right.with principles and ethics. As fathers we never want our son to repeat our mistakes but the mother and i seem to be on diffeent wave lengths.maybe thata my fault.cUse im 46 amd she is 26.i dont kniw.
All i do know is i dont agree with all that goes arlund this place . i am not perfect. But i was raised to love and treat others based on how they acted. To believe in the word of jesus.
I have a home here but i reallt dont have a home cause nothing i believe in or was taught is in thia dwelling.
No im not drunk. Just. A father trying to figure out what ia best to do for my son.cause if i left. She has blue hair flies rainbows, a liberal. I dont hate those people i just dont want tjat for my son.
I named him micah from the rifleman. Micah torrence.thats his middle name..
This is hard guys and i brougbt it on my self being 46 dating at the time a 25 yr old
At thia point i have to ask id there is a jesus where is he at?

In all seriousness you said it yourself. You are 46 years old, knocked up a virile 26 year old and now have a son.
You owe it to him at the very least to get him to 5 years old before thinking about what you are already thinking. Give him a male role model while his mind is young and malleable.
With regards to the woman, you either suck it up for some more years, or you destroy lives.
Sorry, I can’t give you a “it’s all going to be ok answer”
Cheers

First thing I thought was OP is drinking.
If you continue to expect your son to be like you, you will not only disappoint yourself but also your son.
Believe it or not, you can still teach your son principles and ethics despite the color of his moms hair or what stickers she has on her car.
And a word of advice - the best thing you can do for your child is to respect their mother.

I get it and totally understand.
Mine are 13 and 11 and I am looking at other places for me to live near by (like a mile away). It's been bad for a few years. We are very close and it tears at me. If the wife would agree, I have a plan I can execute immediately. Lawyers, finances and everything.
The good and bad days are yoyoing so much I can't deal...

I've done several cross-country moves but spent a good deal of time reflecting on my real motivations for moving. Everyone I know (above maybe age 25 or so) who "started over" just ran away from the problems they created. It's painfully obvious that you're the problem, and running away from yourself isn't going to help, and there's probably an element of crime involved in your plan.
Jesus isn't really my style although black Jesus is a new and exciting idea, but I am into a higher power, and my own personal belief is that a higher power can restore you to sanity if you work on getting sober. Let me know if you want help finding resources to do that.

OP you fuk off for a year and you might not recognize him when you come back. What you need to do is put whatever animosity/negative feelings for the mom behind you and focus on your son. Sit down with her and have an adult conversation and spell out that in no uncertain terms that a boy needs his father, and you want to be apart of his life as much as possible. You don't have to love the woman, but you guys need to be at the very least impartial, and decent to one another. As another poster said the way you treat his mother will have a profound effect on his relationship with not only you, but other women he meets in the future.
It's really cut and dry...You have responsibilities, and don't have the luxury of checking out. Do what's best for your son...end of story.

Dan Cooper is the pseudonym of an unidentified man who hijacked a Boeing 727 aircraft in United States airspace between Portland and Seattle on the afternoon of November 24, 1971.[1][2] The man purchased his airline ticket using the alias Dan Cooper but, because of a news miscommunication, became known in popular lore as D. B. Cooper. He extorted $200,000 in ransom (equivalent to $1,260,000 in 2019) and parachuted to an uncertain fate. Despite an extensive manhunt and protracted FBI investigation, the perpetrator has never been located or identified. It remains the only unsolved case of air piracy in commercial aviation history.

What did I do? Stuck around another 10 years out of some obligation to my kids and watch things get worse and worse.
My kids had front row seats to our sh!t show.
I don't know your circumstances but all I can say is don't waste too much of your life like I did in indecision.

You just had a son
The first year of having a kid is THE ABSOLUTE HARDEST for couples
You are literally in the most difficult part of this whole thing. Let the boy walk first FFS before thinking about huge life changes. Maybe you guys are just exhausted and haven't learned to cope yet. It's a hard adjustment to go from no to 1 kid.
Are the ideas you have for child rearing vastly different? Is there no hope for a middle ground?
Give some examples of the arguments.

Bringing children into an already suffering marriage is not the answer nor is it healthy for anyone involved especially the innocent children. Children do not keep a marriage together - they just keep 2 miserable people under the same roof because of children.
