Finally quit my mind numbing job

After 3 years of doing private home care nursing for a severely disabled patient- I finally put my 2 weeks in. For the past 3 years I’ve been slaving away at this job. Sitting in isolation in someone else’s home. Sitting bedside next to a constantly asphyxiating, seizure having, bedchitting client. Never having anyone to talk to for 10hr shifts. Never quit earlier because the pay was too good. But then it got to the point that money would never be worth it since my whole life was being affected my by chit job.

Daily I would google old misc threads regarding work: “hate my job misc” or “how do I get through a chit day at work”. Rereading these old threads and seeing other miscers in jobs they hate, and seeing other people’s advice really helped me get through my mind numbing days.

Decided to pull the trigger and put my personal training cert to work. Plan on doing remote personal training, as in I come to you with equipment and we train at your work or house. Pretty stoked for it brahs

good move man. Life is too short to spend 10 hours being miserable like that on a daily basis. Something better will come along.

I had the tv on all day, and when the family left I definitely caught a buzz once or twice.
I guess I kinda felt useless and unchallenged. Same old chit daily. The novelty of watching tv for work goes away really quick and ya feel kinda like a bum srs

Maybe it’s because I’ve never been a fan of tv/movies in the first place idk

Yep, not only that but I’d often do overnights or 2-3 day long shifts. The family went on a cruise last year for 7 days. I basically moved in. Got paid the whole time, phattest paycheck.. still not worth it though

Unfortunately it’s a younger guy, he’s 23. Born with a rare disease less than 1,000 people have it here in the states. Pay was $26/hr but with OT after 40 hours and doing that 156 hour week, it was around a 5k paycheck
