made a ton of white rice and grilled beef that tasted pretty good. Only problem is, I left it in the microwave overnight as I fell asleep (was in a sealed container tho). I still ate some this morning and tasted ok... I really don't wanna throw it out and hope its still ok to eat. Can you still get sick eating it if it's cooked?

If it was in a sealed container in the microwave it's probably fine.
If it was actually left out in the open I would throw it away. Listeria can grow within a few hours at room temperature and that can kill you.

I've eaten burgers and chilis that have been left on the counter overnight when I was younger. Maybe I was lucky and never gotten sick.
I wouldn't make a habit out of it, but I think you should be fine.

Rice maybe be a little more careful of, but overnight is fine.

I've gotten drunk, left beef/chicken out on the counter uncovered, ate it the next morning and i'm still here and healthy as ever. If it was in a closed container you'll be just fine

I've been doing the same thing for a 2-3 times a week for the last few months. I leave the food in the toaster oven and have it the morning. If anything, it might build up my immune system. Sort of like giving yourself small doses of rattlesnake venom to build up immunity to a real bite.

-Some people say good things come to those who wait, truth is, good things come to those who work..... who work later.....who work harder...... who are willing to go further than anyone else to get them. If you're waiting for good things to come to you, you'll be waiting for a pretty long time.

Rice is one of the "danger" foods when it comes to food poisoning
Pretty sure the bacteria grows super fast at room temp
You'll probably be fine but nerds have studied this chit and the general rule is that over 2/3 hours at room temp = throw it away

It became such a big deal because Chinese buffets used to leave rice out all day at room temp and loads of people started getting sick. It became known as "fried rice syndrome".

They say you should never reheat rice, because spores can grow in it that can make you sick.
How much of it is scaremongering? I have no idea. I also think it's probably rare, but it can happen. It's up to you.

I used to make 5 breakfast machaca's at a time.
They get cooked in the tortilla to at least 175, so they are pretty sterile.
I leave them on my desk for a couple days and as long as I break off the tortilla when they get hard, they are fine.
The other people in my office puke when they see me do it but that's it.

I was on a tuna and rice diet at uni. Would often make rice to last for 3 days and leave it out in the pan with the lid cover, never once got food poisoning over 4 years.
