It's a slow burn. There wasn't really a "hook" per se but it's a solid show. You've just got to be into it. The cast is pretty good as well. Amos is a pimp.

I'll have to give it another try then, i like sci fi and have a strong interest in astrophysics so i thought this show would be right up my street.

I feel like a big part of it was, from the episodes i saw they didn't take the time to explore any characters or give a decent background as such, so i couldn't really identify with any character.. it just felt like i was watching a bunch of random people.

As sci-fi shows go i much preferred 'the 100', which is probably objectively worse for a number of reasons, but i just couldn't seem to enjoy the expanse.

I think I watched it in less than a week when it dropped, back when they released it all at once (they gonna go The Boys route with S05, 3 episodes on december 16th and a new one every Wednesday)

Expanse is a show that if you judge it based off the first season, you'd be missing out.

The writing and scripts get progressively better every season.

I expect season 5 to continue the trend.

Its classified as "hard sci-fi" which makes sense why lots of people dont like it.

Hard scifi - Interstellar (example)

Basically means they try to make it as much as possible use real elements. Like gravity, etc.

Star gate is the goat sci fi show. In stargate the manlets get cucked by robot spiders and go extinct lmao

The first season of this show was bad i only stuck with it cuz im a scifi junkie. It gets better, i think I'm in s4? It's not the greatest show but I'll probably finish it

I enjoyed season 1-3 but the earlier seasons for me felt stronger.

Started season 4 and just wasn't a huge fan of the setting and story. I'll pick it back up and see if season 4 improves. Thanks for the reminder Opie.

Love sci fi and I wish there were more tv shows.

I wasn't the biggest fan of the settlement setting but it was still pretty solid, I'd also place the first 3 above it though
