Assuming the gym owner doesn’t own the building and leases it, how can the government order you to stop business but not freeze all commercial rent payments?

How are you going to get the money to pay your rent? Better yet, why would you pay rent for a space you can’t utilize to make money and pay rent in the first place?

What happened was tragic and I am not making light of it.

But to clarify - he didn't jump behind the wheel when he was drunk. It happened the morning after a night of drinking and he didn't realize the alcohol was still in his system and being underage it didn't matter how much was in his system.

he plead guilty to vehicular homicide and was sentenced to 5.5 years - though I don't how long he served - in NJ, vehicular homicide is punished by a sentence of 5-10 years and if you are impaired when it happens, you have to serve a minimum of three years.

He plead guilty, did his time per the state. He hasn't shied away from addressing any of this either during this time.

They're been coming out (even the **** fuking governors) and saying Gym's are not a problem and yet they're still trying to collect from this guy? Hope they don't get a dime for wrongfully fuking him in the first place.

That gym is one of many that we’re opened during peak fear, and never enforced masks.
The gym I go too doesn’t either but you don’t see the owner going crazy on FB about it.

Plenty of bars that don’t enforce covid rules either but they don’t post on FB like this clown either.

Not agreeing entirely with the fines etc, but if you are going to go online, the news etc. and film yourself/ brag about breaking rules etc, don’t be surprised when win stupid prizes .

I don't know what happened in Jersey but in PA the governor shutting businesses down was deemed unconstitutional by the courts. But the governor filed an appeal and got a stay for the appeal so it can't be heard till next year. From what I am understanding from some PA officials that are against the governor's orders is that the fines will be nullified if the mandates are deemed unconstitutional.

People backing down to whatever the government says and does is the exact reason that we are in the position that we're in. People pump their life savings into these gym, stores, restaurants etc. only for some clueless out of touch elected moron to come and take it all away from them. Ian Smith has tried to work with the governor and has implemented safety protocols but Murphy clearly has a personal vendetta against him/the gym and doesn't care about anything else.

We need people like this that are willing to fight as hard as needed to not allow this country to be overrun by fear mongering gullible cucks like yourself.

Maybe you should have had balls in the first place and tell everyone if you dont want to go out then stay the **** inside. I am from NJ and actually traveled to PA(20min) to use their gyms because the ones here are still on limited hours. Most people just wear the masks around their necks. lol its such BS. If there was an older person around me then I would wear the mask but most people dont care.
Its ashame PA closed down again with the vaccine right here.

This is the problem. Our government gave small business relief in the form of - more loans. So you could basically keep your business open and put yourself further into debt while you were closed down. Also, it's not like things like utilities stop billing either. One bar owner I know has a $6000 hydro bill he needs to pay back, on top of his monthly lease overhead. I don't know how he's still open.

Guys like this it's honestly kind of stupid. When the government and IRS come calling you can keep fighting, or declare bankruptcy and move on. So the gym would have to close anyway. There's no way he's going to pay it, and there's no way the government is going to be able to collect the fines. The whole thing is just dumb.
