how much does TESLA SPEND on marketing ??

Does Tesla Motors have a great marketing department? Not really, there's no marketing team or a chief marketing officer (CMO). What's more, Tesla's advertising budget is zero.

mean while

General Motors spent 2.95 billion U.S. dollars on advertising in the United States in 2019

In 2019, Ford Motors spent 2.28 billion U.S. dollars on advertising in the United States.

Tesla is now worth more than all the american car manufactures combines. LOL at spending all your budget on marketing instead of R and D.

lol anytime they need free marketing Elon Musk just hits the blunt on a podcast or makes an outlandish tweet and the plebs do all the work for him.

Trolling is a viable business strategy in 2020.

There are strategic reasons to have the United States produce its own solar panels (Tesla) instead of buying them from China, or to have American astronauts sent to space on American-made rockets (SpaceX) instead of contracting it out to Russia.

That's worth $5 billion in my opinion (which is about 20% of NASA's budget btw).

They spend heavily on marketing just not on big advertising like you are used to, the budget is relabelled as pr or launch expenses

Not sure if actual genius that sees when industries are about to take over before they do

Or if he’s one of those chosen by the elite who simply know they can drive industry growth because they’re worth trillions

My guess is the latter since transition from coal to cleaner energy is now happening and it’s essentially dependent on legislation overseeing infrastructure. Musk was sponsored to lay the groundwork for mass adoption of EVs

Ya they are here to stay for sure. Something romantic about an ICE in a sports car that can't be replaced though.

This is broadly true, but have you ever seen a Tesla commercial? Or a Tesla advertisement?

It is inarguable that Tesla is taking a new approach to PR, marketing, whatever you want to call it.

They aren't doing conventional advertising like other companies, and I think that is the point of the OP.

Whatever they save on marketing, they waste on robots and automation in their factories. I don't know if they've improved, but they were in way over their heads, trying to automate too much. Their production numbers improved when they went to the makeshift tents. I've seen that in mfg company I worked for. Management comes in and goes nuts with setting up a production floor, bells and whistles galore. But the employees just want something simple they can do their work on. Half the stuff I'm convinced these upper management guys do in setting up production is just for tours. This is Tesla IMO. The grunts on the assembly line just want to do their jobs the easiest and best they can, and Id bet the tents are set up more to their liking. /rant

When you've positioned yourself in a new category class, you don't need marketing (much). You just need category awareness, that of which plenty of media does for Tesla.

The rest of the car companies have to compete with each other as the best, sexiest car around. Tesla doesn't need to compete for the best eco-friendly, electric car around - thus anyone aware of electric cars can only think Tesla.

Tesla achieved something companies can only dream of achieving: a cult of following.

Only Apple come close.

People line up in queues to buy the new phone. This is brand loyalty.

People paid 100k+ a year in advance to get a Tesla early on. This is true brand loyalty.

Love it or hate it, they do have a cult of following thats willing to pay top dollars for the new Tesla.

(For the record, I'm not a Tesla fan. German cars FTW)

Try driving 600 to 1000 miles in a day like a gas car.

Maintenance will be coming for you.

Costs nothing to drive? Electricity to charge the batteries isn't free.

The upfront huge cost of an electric doesn't pay off for years vs paying for gas.

Tesla actually does spend quite a bit on marketing, but not in the traditional way.

Elon Cuck actually spent some time showing up on different media outlets to promote his brand. Also, he uses the buyers of his car to promote his brand, which imo, is an asinine way to promote your product.

Imagine meeting your friend or person who owns a Tesla and then he turns into a salesman in that instinct. Traditional marketing, the message isn't on you to deliver, but on the manufacturer.

Tesla is fine as a small brand. But on a large scale it will die. Its not even close to being the most "valuable" company.

They had some orbital welders doing full seam welds in a spare tire well that only needed about 18 tack welds. So much wasted wire and time for something not necessary. Cult of normies doesn't care though. Number go up until it doesn't.
