Cauliflower wings

Anyone here try making them? They’re like chicken wings but made of cauliflower with similar flavour. If you have, relate your experience pls, were they awesome or nah?

Break them into smaller florets, batter them up, toss em in some panko and throw them in the air fryer

Shake them in some buffalo sauce and serve with blue cheese

I'm not too entirely sure different strokes I guess. I do know cashews make a way better "cheese" than lots of cheese on the market

Well I’ve tried cauliflower crust pizza and it was the bomb and really not that different tasting either. Was quite similar to a regular pizza so...

Do you mean fried cauliflower? It doesn't taste like wings but it does taste good if you know how to make it, I haven't had it in a few years though

Buffalo Cauliflower is actually pretty damn good.

That being said, calling them wings or acting like they taste the same is fuking retarded. They taste nothing like it, unless you mean the sauce, in which case youdon'tsay.jpg

Idk, but I love them. Had a few places in NYC on my to go list that had awesome buffalo cauliflower bites.

Can't imagine it being that difficult? I would prefer an airfryer for this though, even though I've never used one.

Cut up a cauliflower head, mix in some frank's red hot or your own preferred sauce of choice, batter it up with flour of choice, air fry, win?

One restaurant served it with an avocado ranch that was delicious.

I had them once. They were like little faux wings of sadness. Like anything, I think it really comes down to the recipe. If you can find a really good recipe I’m sure they could taste good.

You can bake them but they won't come out as crispy, you need an air fryer or oil fryer to get the full experience

I usually just buy bulk cashews and make it myself but miyoko's makes a good store brand "cheese"

i've made them as i date a vegetarian and she wanted to give it a try.

frankly they are fine as a snack, and if made right with the crispy finish, blue cheese and your favorite hot sauce they will "remind" you of wings. i'm not saying they taste the same. but it's a nice little snack that will unfortunately leave you hungry again in 30 minutes.

from what i recall it was a decent amount of work making them from scratch, individually rolling each piece around in the breading that you make. not sure the juice was worth the squeeze

Can’t you just put some flour in a big ziplock freezer bag and shake em up in there? Ya forget rolling them individually.
