How are the billionaires doing? (good news for miscers)

For context, it took most of these guys a lifetime of work to amass $3T of wealth.

In just the last 9 months, they ZOOMED from $3T to $4T. BOOM.The largest transfer of wealth to the top 1% in economic history, boyos.

This is horrible news for most people, but not for miscers who are all elite MONEYMOGGERS. Shall we pop another bottle?

In b4 we tell the plebcels that it will trickle down

There are entire books written on the topic. At least a few nobel prizes in economics awarded. The effects are everywhere, but the most noticeable to you will be the disappearance of the middle class.

A rapidly growing wealth gap means we will segregate into a small group of super elites and everyone else working poor. That's not really a partisan view, it's measurable economic reality.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but everyone on the list, except the Waltons, are new money. You can make an argument against mackenzie scott, but she did help create amazon.

Maybe we should just try and be better instead of complaining.

Bezos and the Walton family (~$385 billion net worth) each receive tens of billions of taxpayer money every year. I'd rather not pay that.

Lol @ thinking having a million million dollars somehow makes them happier with their lives. I promise you they and their families are just as miserable as the rest of us. We all have highs and lows in life no need to obsess over wanting to be inferior.

Pretty sure the wealth gap impacts every area of your life, from job markets (Chy-na), housing prices, stonk market, crime rates, rising tax rates, consumer price index, etc.

I more than doubled my net worth this year as well. The stock market plunge opened up so many opportunities. You didn’t need to be a billionaire to make it.

And I’ll pay a ton in taxes so that some simp doesn’t have to pay his college bills that I worked 3 jobs to pay for.
I probably banged your mom.

$500 is Gucci - maybe you can catch him in the office to deliver, jk - better just hand it off to his secretary as I’m sure he’s whoremaxxing somewhere

They arent rich BECAUSE people are poor. They are rich because they worked for it. Took HUGE risks, invested, grew their brands/jobs etc. You couldconfiscatesteal their entire wealth and it would run the US gov for less than a year. The growing gap between the rich and the poor is MUUUUUUUCH more complex than just the rich getting richer. It has a lot to do with chit like Walmart getting to stay open during lock down when small businesses have to close down. Or when BLM gets to loot and destroy businesses while mayors and governors do nothing about it and even encourage it.

We have a Fuken Christmas jumper day tomorrow and apparently our ceo is really excited (legit words from my middle manager asking us to wear our jumpers). He actually wants employees to take pics of themselves in a Fuken jumper and then send it in for a contest.

I can’t even make this up. This is happening tomorrow. Is that not some sinister chit? Like is he fuking with us?

I’m not participating though - we had an ugly Christmas sweater party where we had to vote for best sweater ... I showed up on the zoom call wearing a black Nike hoodie and simply said “I don’t own a Christmas sweater”

I once worked institutional at a US company TD bought out. Some HR genius thought pizza day's, jeans day's, and celebrating "talk like a pirate day" would help company morale. Not sure if any of those initiatives came from the great north or not, but it always was a beta move to me, regardless of who came up with it.

I will say that whenever I went up there and told the customs guy I worked for TD, I did get treated like a king.

TD has some clout for sure

They have a phenomenal US mid cap fund

But yeah pizza and pirate day totally seems like a Canadian thing to do
