"Households in London and the south-east England are to be banned from mixing over the festive period, while in the rest of the country, three households will be able to meet indoors on Christmas Day only, Boris Johnson has announced.

Giving an update from Downing Street, the prime minister also said London and the south-east will move into a tier 4 from midnight, with lockdown restrictions coming into force."


Lmao what a load of chit, no wonder our country is a complete laughing stocking. Stopping people seeing there families for a virus that has a 99.8% survival rate.

most people who want to get vaccinated will not be vaccinated in at the very least if we are being optimistic several months. and from there the vaccine has not been tested on this wide of a scale so who knows what they find out or what can happen.

Yeah because covid only spreads during Christmas lmao. Brb can go to work and interact with loads of different people, can go to a supermarket with many different people but can't even visit your family members.

Our government have been incompetent since March, if they did a 2-3 week strict lockdown when covid first came around where no one could leave there house under any circumstances except emergency workers then we would have been back to normal by now.

The virus is pretty much here to stay because of how useless Bojo has been from the start. We should just accept it and fully reopen everything again rather than this yo-yo tier system bollocks that doesn't work and just wrecks the economy.

I honestly can't see him or the Tories being re-elected in 4 years time after this chit show.

I mean Labour are a complete joke too, especially when Corbyn was leader but I think people will see Keir Starmer as the most sensible option in 2024.

They don't have enough police to enforce this, police only tend to intervene if there's mass protests or gatherings in public.

I've broke a few lockdown rules myself and never been stopped or questioned by the police. Hell last month I was out with friends till 2am after the bars closed for a month and a police car drove past, stared straight at us and didn't do anything lol.

He basically repeated the talking points that were done on the first and second lockdowns AND the tier announcement.

The screw keeps turning but I doubt a major uprising will happen because most people on these islands cant appreciate bad things happening on a large scale until its too late.

What could happen is once we hit 2021 this "New" strain wont be kept down and eventually we will have a longer national lockdown in the timeframe of 2 months. That 1 month lockdown will be used as a data point by SAGE who will be floating it out there soon after christmas.
