What mortality would motivate you to support lockdowns?

I think even with a 90-95% survival for young people, I would prefer a fully running economy with personal measures like masks to shutting everything down.

People could self-isolate and probably deal with the the risks with medicine, and most would not suffer reinfections. It seems like a dead end to shut things down. When would they ever expect to reopen?

If the mortality rate was 90% they'd be literally burning chit down trying to sterilize the world.

I did the math in my state. roughly 400k confirmed cases. About 5k deaths. Thats a 1% death rate. Most occur in elders in their 70s 80s and 90s. The actual infected number is MUCH higher likely double which brings the death rate even lower. Not to mention the false positives and negatives thrown in there and the death certificate lies. If the ACTUAL mortality rate of a virus was 20% or more, I think there'd be a necessity for lockdowns

5-10%. Not cheesing the numbers by making every death a covid case, not counting the flu and having a realistic amount of infections to death ratio.

Id say if it gets to a true 5% overall then you should start worrying.
Since it would mean a 30%+ for high risk and about 2-3% for young and healthy people.

2-3% is pretty high if you consider that you are 80% likely to catch it in the next 12 months unless you totally isolate and 100% likely over the next 3 years (guestimates).

Currently we are about 10% overall for high risk and 0.2% for young and healthy people. Which makes it like 1.2% overall. These stats are likely skewed since if you look at the data, the fatality rate dropped significantly in the past 3 months (which is not linked to vaccines or effective treatments, possibly just reporting differences)

Imagine ebola was airborne and people were bleeding inside out, you wouldn’t have to tell my ass twice to wear a mask and a face shield. **** I’ll stay at home and lose it all willingly
-Some people say good things come to those who wait, truth is, good things come to those who work..... who work later.....who work harder...... who are willing to go further than anyone else to get them. If you're waiting for good things to come to you, you'll be waiting for a pretty long time.

My point was I would never submit to a lockdown lol

There could be an alien invasion with a 99.9% chance of anyone who doesn’t submit to a lockdown dying and I would still do whatever I wanted. And chances are if the government is using an event to implement tyranny, they created that event in the first place.

The government is ALWAYS the problem, and NEVER the solution

It should be entirely personal choice but with the exception that office workers etc have to work remotely to avoid people feeling pressured into going into work.

So long as it’s tied to money we’ll never get an accurate mortality rate, always inflated. Moreover the mortality rate doesn’t matter to me, the govt shouldn’t shut down the country period and overstep the boundaries of personal responsibility of the individual. It doesn’t matter if it’s less lethal than the common flu like the current covid or the deadliest disease in history it should be up to the individual if they leave their home or wear a mask (lol @ masks though).

Would never advocate for lockdowns. I believe in freedom and personal responsibility. If, however, there was a disease with a high mortality rate I would hunker down in my acreage in the backwoods of Florida and if anyone came within 15 yards of my property I'd politely suggest they turn back towards where they came from.

If a pandemic broke out with a mortality % like some people are bandying about itt the question would be immaterial. The government and civil order wouldn't last a week.

If masks work and social distancing works, why do we need a lockdown. Almost all deaths are people over 50/60. Lower the retirement age to 60. Institute a benefit for them. They can stay home while everyone else runs the economy.

Most of the people who die were about to die anyway. It's like getting a cold at that age it will kill you.

And you can tell it's not serious because they always go 'Look, LOOK Timmy died and he was perfectly healthy and only 24'. If you need to sell it that one or two people died then it's not that severe. If it were bad healthy people would be dropping everywhere. They're not. More people died in Florida died of Stroke in 2019 than people under 50 have died of Corona Virus in all of USA.

At five foot nine and 185 lb. with a salary of around $30,000 a year, the typical Canadian man is hardly Brad Pitt zipping down Park Avenue in a Ferrari. We spend more on alcohol a year than we do on fresh fruit and vegetables. We have sex less than once a week, but spend 45 hours a month on the Internet. We spend more than $2,000 a year to eat at restaurants and save hardly anything for retirement, but are more than $112,000 in debt.

I dont think you guys have an accurate grasp of how many fukking people there are out there,

They force lockdowns because, as ive seen first hand, people continue to flaunt the rules, having big get-togethers, pulling down masks every chance thy get,

The hospitals are full again supposedly
