I want to design an anti covid measures poster, pls help (srs)

Hardly any protests going on and the whole UK-France border chit has affected me and my business a lot. I'm mad and I finally want to do something about this clown world bs. I live in a rural area so the idea I have come up with so far just to plaster posters everywhere. I'm particularly looking forward to putting them up on notice boards outside of town and village halls.

Only problem is to decide on the content. I want to the primary message to be "say no to fear" or something like that, along with some subpoints focusing on data and evidence. Obviously I'm limited to the amount of text that it is reasonable to display, but I think I've narrowed it down to three points

- It's not as dangerous as people think (95%+ survival rate for 70+ age group etc). More data here would be appreciated.
I'm also thinking of including average age of death and life expectancy comparison. I'm wary of coming across as a bit of a sociopath though

- The destruction of small businesses and the acceleration of wealth transfer to large corps and their shareholders (50% of bars and restaurants in France could close forever (destruction of middle class) / billionaires have got richer at a far accelerated rate)

- That liberties have been taken away with little resistance in supposedly in exchange for safety. I'm struggling with the wording etc here as it is more abstract.

I can worry about formatting/background/images after. Got to get the content right first.

Please give input

yes srs

edit:

article so far:

translation:

Say no to fear

The black death? Not really
fatality rate 50-69 0.5%, 5.4% 70+
median age of fatalities 85 years, life expectancy 82.5 years

Destruction of small business and impoverishment of younger generations
50% of bars and restaurants could disappear
500 billion euros, potential cost of the crisis

Freedoms restricted
freedom of movement, freedom to meet and protest, freedom of commerce and enterprise
children in masks
towards a mandatory vaccine in all but name? flights, concerts, sporting events... papers please!

I don't want anything easy to poke holes in or sneer at. Of course a portion of people are going to be asymptomatic as with any virus.

Can confirm. My 12 year old daughter has it right now. She had a fever of 102 at its highest, a slight headache, and fatigue. I haven’t checked her fever this morning, but she didn’t feel too hot when I touched her forehead. I think she is going to be just fine.

No chit.

Some teachers in my area have the fear so instilled in the pupils it's disgusting. Telling them that they mustn't catch covid and that they should wear their masks at all times because even if they are fine, they'll go home and kill their grandparents. Apparently some little girl's mask fell down her face for a few seconds that she became so hysterical that she had to go home.

I think this is the latest 'best estimates' from the CDC for fatality ratios. It's in table 1. For people 70+ it's 5.4%.

It's from September though so there could well be more recent estimates.

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019...scenarios.html

This study in Nature estimates IFR for people in France under 65 of 0.65%, and only 1.1% for over 65s.

As an illustration I'm thinking of using this image with the man wearing a mask. Maybe a couple of virus illustrations dotted around the page.

I would be a happy to pay a miscer who is willing to do the graphic design on the poster.

I don't think showing a 5% death rate (in the USA even and not in France, I think?) for people 70+ is the best argument you could make.

A death rate of 0,001% for people under the age of 40 might be a whole lot more convincing.

Better put it into perspective, do you have data on businesses that went bankrupt or how many billions a lockdown costs a month ?

Its important to appeal to both sides pro and anti measures people, because imo we are really gonna pay a high price all together if we go on with lockdowns etc, we will end up fking up more lives than we saved

There is an article by big black c, stating that it wont be cheap in UK

I just think saying "there's a 1/20 chance that if your grandpa catches it he ends up dead" is an extremely stupid idea to put on a poster like that and it's not very convincing at all. That's something you'd expect to see on a government poster designed to make people scared.

You'd honestly do better to just completely take that off and put something else on that part. The median age of deaths vs. live expectancy is a killer argument, that's a great pick. You could try to find some info about total deaths or excess mortality to show that it's similar to previous years.

I don't know if I agree. When you're 70+ what is your chance of dying each year anyway? probably more than 5%. My great aunt had a stroke the other day and is now dead, it's the kind of risk that is associated with being old. The adjustment I made based on your comments was not to lead with that, but I don't know if there's any point in trying to hide it completely.

There was a moratorium on fukknig in the 1500s after Columbus and his cronies brought Syphillis back from the new world because Euros didn't have any immunity to it. They thought it was Leprosy when their dinks started cumbling and falling off. Ded fkn srs.

Not a bad point, old people die.

A guy above posted this:

This study in Nature estimates IFR for people in France under 65 of 0.65%, and only 1.1% for over 65s.

https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-020-2918-0

Aren't those 5,4% you're using CDC numbers from the USA? If you'd put the death rate is 1,1% for people over 65 that would sounds a lot more convincing. You could also argue it's more convincing to turn the numbers around and say the SURVIVAL RATE is 98,9% because it could look more positive that way.

The 5,4% is from the CDC data, but it's gonna be very similar for France.

I think I'm gonna go with your over 65s suggestion, it 98,9% survival rate for over 65s sounds good.
