Day before family vacation phenomenon

Putting this out here to see if anyone else has experienced this whack a$$ sh!t.

Growing up, our family would go on one or two family trips per year. Without fail, at some point during the day before we’re set to leave, my mom would have some kind of psychotic breakdown that would end with, “you can all just go without me then.” We’d eventually talk her off the ledge and proceed.

Now that I have a family of my own, I’m seeing my wife does the exact same sh!t my mom did.

Can anybody relate here??

Yes I can relate. Women love attention and drama, that’s really all there is to it.

Someone would always have a breakdown...older bro doesn’t want to leave his “gf” for 4 days or is out until 2 am that morning, mom hasn’t packed and is tired, dad is tired of everyone’s bull hit, etc

Lmao, I don't even have a big family, nor did I experience any of this, however, I always heard from other families that this was a thing. Someone would always be having breakdowns, mostly the mother or daughter. Never thought about this until this thread

Nope.
If my wife acted like that she’d be out with the trash.

I thought you were going to say something like how every time you plan a vacation the day before leaving something always breaks for me.

Sort of, except it was my dad who would fly off the handle and yell and break things after the trip.

People are strange. Especially parents with anger issues.

I hope you can ease your wife and take care of your kiddos.

Oh and come to think of it, my Mom was the one that wore the pants.

Yet Dad was the abusive one.

****ing chit

Similar story here but usually someone has to do something slightly stupid for this to happen.

Got a PS5 ordered after following Twitter for days. So it was big deal for me. Deliver date said before 8th January.

Fuking arrived yesterday. Was filled with joy and opened the chit only to her yelling and screaming and chit about it. Fuked up for the whole family. But calmed down 5 minutes later when I walked away Lol

Dunno man - sometimes it feels like the two realities are just different lol
