How much should dumbbell press be?

What % of your barbell bench should your dumbbell bench be? Flat and/or incline (although I’d assume % would be the same).

My barbell is like 20% higher.

Don’t worry about %s

Just get stronger at both, attack any and all weak points

Wtf I’m not worried. Just curious if either is weak compared to the other.

It seems like a normal discrepancy to me honestly

My flat bench for 5-6 reps is 245-265, but I bench 90 lbs DBs for 6-8, incline is about the same %, 225 for 4-6 reps but 80 lbs dumbbells I can get 5-7 with. I think a lot of power loss happens just getting the DBs into position.

idk i'm maxed out on db press but i just focus on form and controlled reps and make it harder with pace and pause reps. it's not exactly a strength exercise. the only exercises u should be worry about the weight are the core exercises imo flat bench, squat, deadlift, maybe bb row. rest are accessories
There is only one Hell: the one we live in now.

Everyone is different. Usually you press a bit more on BB than DB.

My flat: 225x8 BB and 100x10 DB
Incline: 225x5-6 BB and 100 x8 DB

I did 110x15 paused db press this afternoon but probably can't bench 225x15 because I never bench
I do to until dumbbells are just above pecs, so past 90 degrees

20% higher seems reasonable, IMO.

Never did the math between dumbbell and barbell but the first time you hit the 100s for a legit 10 reps feels pretty awesome.
Eat in a deficit to lose weight.
Hit your protein and fat minimums to stay healthy and keep your gainz.
Lift heavy and do HIIT to look and feel awesome.
Use the internet to learn why you should do these things and how to do these things.

If you can do 3.50 per arm on dumbells for 3.5 sets of 350 reps, then the ideal ratio for the bar bell is ((3.5 * 3.5) / sqrt(3.5))

When I was maxing my bench out at 275 , I was doing 90-6 with dumbbells. As mentioned it takes energy to get them in position,so I bought power hooks . Really helps doing incline ,as it used to tear my rotator getting the heavier ones in position during incline .

I removed the Velcro , as it made the diameter of the handle too big for my hands

Pretty sure is should be equivalent. Just divide your bench by 2 and you should be able to dumbbell press that.

Yup, I dropped mine and just realized last I broke a weld on one side of the power hook . I’m not good at welding light steel , so I’m ordering another pair.

Strangely though , I find them very easy to use

20% isn't bad IMHO.
I find the top of my reps are where I start to lose form.
