Fear of getting old
Over the past few months I've been having something like flashbacks or rather flashforwards. It's got to be some of the worst thoughts that ever have crept into my head (srs). The fear is strong enough that I get adrenaline rushes just from thinking about it
I keep imagining I'm in an older age, around 60. Health is going downhill, most of family/friends are deceased, lifetime goals never happened, no kids or family. And the worst part is knowing you're too old to do anything about it, not like a video game where you can reload an old save and retry. What's done is done

Best lifts:
Bench press: 315x5
Squat: 465x1
Strict press: 205x5
Deadlift: 405x13 (conv tap'n'go with straps)

dont worry, you're like a frog in boiling water. you won't really care so much by the time you're old.
Lifts:
Squat: 460x1
Bench: 400x1
Deadlift: 575x1
OHP: 250x2
Weight: 180 lbs.
Don't have heroes; look up to no one. Because as long as someone's leading the way, the best you'll ever be is second.

I think this may be becoming a little more common this year. I wouldn’t be surprised. I haven’t thought about that specifically, but definitely more about death of family, and how little time we have to do the things we want to do in our lives. It makes sense to me that if we are hearing about COVID, getting the death reports, etc. that there might be a surge in thoughts like this. I’m guessing you are not alone and that an increased number of people are thinking along these lines this year.
Entire NYPD should go on strike. You'll see then how quickly the mayor changes his tone.

Yep. If you have goals you gotta start moving towards them now.
I'll be one day closer to 35 tomorrow. That's halfway to 70.

I genuinely hope I die in my late 50s srs
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

Yeah bro welcome to being a human.
Is this the first time you have encountered the prospect of your own mortality?
Everyone is absolutely terrified of getting old and dying.
We are uniquely aware of our ephemeral existence.
You are cursed with life, and then are doomed with the understanding that everything you have will be taken away from you for Eternity

Same man i'm almost 32 and time is moving fast as a motherfuker i keep imagining in no time i will be 60 and could drop dead any second. Also thought about how Brad Pitt was still a Chad like 12 years ago and now age has caught up to him. Chit is crazy man.

Isn’t it nice to realize that you are nothing more than a single wisp of flame that can be snuffed out in an instant?

If you were a kid once and had big dreams that you would discover some grand law of physics, you had hope. One day you turn 30 and it hasn't happened yet, and you know it will never happen. The hope is gone

Feeling all my old dirt bike injuries etc . Knees are my worse problem right now,but I know guys my age who aren’t in bad shape at all, or fake it better .
I think the worse part is not being able to pull young sloots anymore , although when I was 46 I brought a 19 yo hbb back from the bar one time, but those are rare occasions

I actually know a guy in town who was in phenomenal shape , an arborist, and dropped dead at 59 from an aneurysm.

It seemsThe Ghost of Christmas Yet to Comehas just visited you.

But don't worry you have plenty of time to change your life
and prove the vision you have just seen will never come true.
-----------------------
BTW, I'm 61. I love my wife and daughter. We are happy.
My health is far from perfect but I'm alive and kicking.
People get old and die eventually. However, we fight until the end finally comes
and death isn't losing it's the giving up that is losing.
So you never give up. Good luck.

If you get to that age and really hate life that much you can throw yourself over the side of a bridge without worrying too much about all the wonderful memories and happenings the future will bring.
Chances are even at those ages you’ll have things to look forward to. Use to work with a 70 year old who still has to work everyday because he never saved but lived for whoremongering and was apparently happy in his day to day life. Another mid 70s guy I’ve known was marrying a Russian mail order bride of the same age.
Seems like it really doesn’t matter how old you get, you’ll always have things to look forward towards to stop yourself from offing it, no matter if you’re a failure.

Well, I'm 45 next year and here is how I see it:
Aging is only a biological process; it does not have to be physical or mental.
And aging is a privilege not many get to have. So be grateful.

Just make sure you check all the existential goals of a man as early in life as possible. It's living in easy mode from there on.

Everyone thinks this way initially. We're all like "life ends at 50/60" whatever.
Truth is, life moves fast and you young boyos will all be my age before you can even believe it. If you work hard, advance in your career, love really well, keep some close friends, and stay reasonably fit, you'll likely be happy at almost any age.
Sure health has a lot to do with happiness, but medical science is improving so rapidly that they're performing knee and hip replacements on folks in their late 80's now. As long as nothing catastrophic happens to you, you keep your weight in check, and don't ignore potential symptoms of your health going haywire you'll likely live a long time.
I'll bet that most boyos here in their early 30's will live close to 100 and be healthy in doing so.
Just enjoy whatever period you're at in your lives. Trust us oldcells, all fun doesn't end when you hit a certain age. Sure, you're not banging your wife of 20 years 5x a week anymore, but once or twice a week is still very nice. Stay young in your minds boyos.

if it wasn't for photos and mirrors you wouldn't necessarily know you were ageing..
keep your mind young. have fun and be joyful.
just do your best to age well. lift something weekly. be it dumbells or whatever. walk, hike, swim, cycle a few times a month for a couple of hours at a time. keep the body moving.
eat clean as much as you can
f*ck as much as you can
age well my friends
