Turns out to be true so far. My Sats are down 66% since then. Really glad I did buy some BTC. The tide could swing, but I'm covered regardless.

Who remembers the time BCH was supposedly primed to overtake BTC? And that Roger Ver guy was in the spotlight.
I still remember one time in 2017/2018 waiting in the parking lot of KFC for food, watching as BCH went within millions of overtaking BTC on mcap from crazy korean volumes. Then said exchanges crashed, and it wasn't to be... I still think that is where ver and jihan/bitmain orchestrated a push to supplant BTC as the 'true bitcoin' via mcap domination. Who knows what the markets might look like if it had been pulled off.. later on I do remember seeing Bitmain's financials when they were going to IPO, and it showed they sold a **** load of BTC for BCH that ended up losing them millions.

I was so tempted to buy some BCH as a hedge back then, but I couldnโ€™t bring myself to support the BCH debacle.

Taught me some lessons through, as did the insane XRP bull run in late 2017. Anything can happen in crypto and โ€œintrinsic valueโ€ means absolute jack **** in this crazy world.

XRP shills are saying this is all coordinated price suppression and price is going to explode and leave everything in the dust....... Crypto is quite an environment. I would buy some more but the SEC case is utterly damning.

Though this is a hefty lawsuit, it's entirely possible that they're right. EOS got dicked by the SEC for their $4 billion raise and ended up having to fork out a pathetic $24 million.

But I definitely wouldn't bet any actual money on it. There are lots of coins out there.

I wouldn't touch xrp till the lawsuit is cleared up. Sucks I had close to 40k coins, was ready for this bull run, but there are some crazy xrp moon boys in crypto

It makes me bullish when I hear about retail investors pulling out of XRP for the next 6months +

The absolute FEAR in Ripple community made me wanna add to my position tbh.

What happens to XRP price may be completely counterintuitive. Imagine the whales decide to shoot it back up to .70? Retail investors will jump back in and forget all about the lawsuit.

Billions*

They went all-in on BCH and other coins for not just mining but on their balance sheet too. They were buying coins at it's peak instead of offloading assets to USD. Pretty insane moves on their part.

I also don't see the point regarding keeping enthusiasm in 'check'. Enthusiasm or pessimism is warranted on merit, it is not something that needs to be 'checked' unless sound arguments suggest otherwise (not the ones made by someone that should be institutionalised).

Funny thing is if this SEC ordeal ends up being cleared in court, it's going to turn into a super catalyst for XRP potentially. Time will tell.

I think if XRP gets cleared we will get a pretty sweet alt coin run across the board. Hoping they get this through fast but court cases can last ages.

I agree with the sentiment in the above video (Bitcoin the is biggest evolution in money in a thousand years - understand that it is the invention of digital scarcity, and the most scarce asset the world has ever seen).

Don't be filled with regret in years to come that you knew about Bitcoin and tried to beat the market with fancy trading or decided to play roulette with alts and wound up with no Bitcoin.

Congrats all those who understood what Bitcoin is and are still here.

Congrats all those who understood what Bitcoin is and are still here.
highly advise against doing this:

You'll suffer a grinners' decay of 47% after 9 iterations of 30% ATHs.

At $275,000, the grinner's decay is $3.9m compared to someone that just holds (for an initial investment of $1m).

My method is similar to the method someone mentioned earlier, only take out a % for life changing events (sick family member, something that will genuinely help you achieve self actualisation, cancer treatment etc).

My structure is as follows:
- 10% can be sold only for personal desires and ambitions of significance (i.e. exposure to something, filling a hole in life etc). Not bull**** purchases like cars or a wedding.
- 40% only for significant life changing events (i.e. I get prostate cancer or immediate family member gets a terminal illness).
- 50% to be unsold and taken to the grave. This seems irrational but it will be my BTC high score in life.

Do you consider rebalancing a portfolio trading?

At some point, it makes sense to even out your investment portfolio to meet your age/wealth/risk appetite.

For some that will be 1% Bitcoin, some 10% Bitcoin, some 50% Bitcoin, and some 99% Bitcoin; to each his own.

I wouldn't consider taking 5% of an asset that is up 600% from it's March lows to be trading (it won't be going back into Bitcoin - an 80% drop from 100k might get tempting though...), but if you consider it so then so be it!
