A day in the life of TomWanks (Locked Down in Russia Edition)
What's up brahs, there's been a new lockdown in Russia-- it's supposedly draconian af, meaning everything is supposed to be closed.
I knew my beloved Russian people would not be having any of that horsechit though, so I traveled to the epicenters of Christmas time cheer and festivity to investigate whether or not Russians have been completely cucked out of the holiday season by a cold with a 99.7% survival rate. Anyway, the audio isn't great in some places so apologies right off the bat for that. Cliffs and timestamps below.
Cliffs of Cliffs:
- I show one of the biggest malls in SPb as well as one of the most hipster bookstores I've ever been too.
- Both places reminded me of why living in Russia, as a quest to find some kind of 'authentic' experience, is just a LARP.
Timestamped Cliffs:
0:00 -- introduction and abstract
2:10 -- going into the metro
3:20 -- people on the metro, an about average amount I'd say tbh
3:40 -- entering Christmas Village
4:35 -- American embassy spotted
5:09 -- lol @ jestermaxxers srs
5:30 -- Pushkin Square
6:20 -- entering the belly of the beast
7:30 --https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philipp_Kirkorov
7:50 -- am I in America?
8:00 -- shoutout LooksMaximus
9:20 -- it's over boyos
10:10 -- dance, cuck, dance
10:45 -- authenticity is a false god
12:30 --https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K69_m4gtZDk
14:05 -- entering the den of saint-petersburg hipsterdom
14:14 -- sniffmaxxing
15:40 -- her frontside (septum ring just lol)
15:50 -- OP confronts his own inauthenticity
16:50 -- Gender and Sex section of the hipster book store, the takeover is imminent
17:20 -- a little bit of Saint Petersburg history
19:35 -- particularities of Christmas in Russia (which is 7 Jan, not 9 Jan as I say in the vid)
20:55 -- an offering for the gods

the fact that you cliff'd that video with timestamps makes me wish I could rep you again.
Also have genuinely never seen what a Russian town looks like, now that I think of it. But definitely looks like what I kind of expected.

No supposed required "social distancing" and kids that are supposed to be "super-spreaders" without a mask, the same kids we are not allowing back to school because they could infect the vulnerable at home.

'sounds good to me brah, let's enforce it.'
Blows me away that these retards can claim to be following the science with a straight face.

1-CLOSE EVERYTHING! We can't risk people interacting normally, no work, just "essential workers".
brb Only Walmart, Target, Big chain groceries open and EVERYONE flocking there to do their shopping, essentially multiplying the chances of spread by forcing people into jammed packed premises to buy their necessities, WHILE facilitating the largest transfer of wealth from the middle class to the ultra rich in history.
2-WEAR YOUR MASK ALL THE TIME! Except when you're indoors in a packed restaurant eating.
This virus is a joke and is being treated as such, but in the process is destroying an untold number of lives and that number keeps growing by the day.

The way Russia has dealt with the pandemic has been pretty funny, because they mouth all the right talking points that you see in the US too, but the simple fact is that just dgaf at all vis-a-vis enforcement.
Most of the people who tell you to wear a mask in the metro, etc. don't have any personal investment in whether or not you do because they know it's just a LARP too.
I've seen a few people be kents about it, but you can tell it's just because it's the 4000rd time they've repeated it that day.

RVF was a great forum before Roosh took the Godpill and went full scorched earth on it. He still makes interesting content imo, but it's nowhere near the level it was when he was traveling around writing the Bang series.

I need to do one out in the countryside somewhere to show how life outside the city is here.
I think that might wake up some of these LARPers who think Russia has got it all figured out a little bit.

I moved around the west coast a bit-- mostly in Washington, but I lived in Alaska as well.
I came to Russia in search of an androcentric society that was based on traditionalism and patriotism.
I found Bizarro America. Slightly more based, but completely cucked in its own special snowflake way.

edit: guess i never watched full vid. i mean you mention it's slightly cucked but idk if that answers the androcentric thing. i guess you're saying it's slowly transitioning
anyways, the architecture looked kinda weird to me. it seemed like it was stuck in deciding whether it wanted to be a big city or not

Quality content.
When I was still a soyboy twink I would regularly go to hipster bookstores around Krakow and LARP as an intellectual.
Then I hopped on OJ and started LARPing as Rocco and never set foot in a bookstore again.
Definitely prefer the Rocco LARP.

Repped. Quality content. Very interesting.
I'd like to ask a few questions if I may.
1) how is your Russian? Did you know any before you moved?
2) what kind of thing do/did you do for work? Is it in Russian and was it easy to get decent work? Was there a visa process and stuff?
3) you showed us some upper middle class/business/shopping areas. What are the working class areas like?
Thanks.
