this carry over chit is gey, i can carry up to 2 weeks worth but noone tracks if i put my vacation time in the system correctly anyways

at one of my companies i took off the last 2 months no fuks given then put my 2 weeks in and they charged me like almost 2 grand for all the overused vacation days and i didnt pay, that was 2 years ago

I'm hoping I can escape the 9 to 5 by 45-48. Maybe buy a cheap house with low property taxes, then work a good part time job. If I could get my living expenses down to say $1500, it's definitely doable.

Yeah I'm only allowed to carry 350. Any amount over 350 converts to sick leave at the end of the fiscal year.

We get 20 vacation days a year, are off for every holiday and get 10 days for Christmas/new years. I'm only at 210 hours now but idk how ill avoid hitting 350.

Would you enjoy life more on 1500 with more time versus 9-5 with good vacation and work life balance and a ton more money?

Sounds like you're wasting your time in yearly evals that can be useful. My goal last fiscal year was to move into the senior level slot on my team so I told my manager. He gave me a few high visibility projects to see if I could hack it. That was 18 months ago, and here i sit in the highest technical position my employer has with as 20% raise.

You get out what you put in, as with everything else in life.
