Another woman got it and had to go on the ventilator because she could barely breathe. She did have asthma. Her husband also had to get a liver transplant, although it would appear his liver was pretty much ****ed prior to him catching COVID, and COVID just accelerated the liver failure. I also know countless others who tested positive, but had minor effects and came back to work a week or two later and were completely fine. My dad's martial arts instructor caught it in the beginning. The guy is in his 80's. Pretty much everyone thought he was done for because we didn't understand much about the virus yet other than the media telling us it's bad. People thought he was done for but turns out the guy had minor symptoms and was perfectly fine.
I am guessing some of you live in small populations if you don't know of anyone who caught it, but it's out there and it's real. From my anecdotal experience, though, the only people who had severe complications, or died, had some prior underlying condition or were really old. Everyone I know who was generally healthy had minor flu-like symptoms and was fine.

Fauci during an exclusive intercation with CNN said that the country is at a very critical point and he shares the concern of that as the U.S. gets into the next few weeks, it might actually get worse. Biden, who will take office in January, last week had said that "darkest days" against coronavirus "are ahead of us, not behind us."
Fauci had reportedly received the first dose of Moderna vaccine last week in Bethesda, Maryland. Fauci said he considered it an honor to be part of this process.
The COVID-19 case total in the United States surpassed the 19 million mark on Sunday, according to the US-based Johns Hopkins University, which tracks and compiles data from various sources including local authorities and media outlets.
US holiday travel this year was lower than in previous years, but air travel averaged more than one million passengers a day for six consecutive days last week, according to the Transportation Security Agency.

Average age of COVID death is higher than average life expectancy. It's going to cut some peoples lives short. Working age population should be carrying on as normal though outside of basic human hygiene and courtesy.

Social distancing doesn't work. Masks don't work. Only washing your hands, disinfecting surfaces, and not touching your face works.
This is a scamdemic.
You are mistaken if you think older people want to be locked down. My parents are in their 70's and they think this is ridiculous. They have been through multiple pandemics and they are pissed off America has gotten so soft. My dad said back in the day there would have been straight up revolt.

Also that 19 million is the CFR, estimates put actual infection numbers over 100 million.

Indianapolis Children's Museum. They have a huge outdoor sporting complex now too. IIRC it's still rated the #1 Children's Museum in the country. If you or your kids like transformers they have a huge lik30ft tall Bumblebee in the lobby.

Our ancestors likely would have responded to the pandemic by burying their dead, saying a few prayers, and moving on with their business. Instead, we have politicians using the pandemic to push their communist agendas.

I haven't met a single old person who's as scared of this as young people are. When you get to a certain age, suffer through countless hardships over the years and see enough death you just don't give a fuk anymore. If its time to go, its time to go.

This is just going to be another yearly flu. You realize the Spanish influenza is still around and still kills people 100 years later, right?
Ruining 100's of millions of lives to try and save a few million, that were never going to be saved in the first place, is ludicrous.

My 84 year old uncle has a farm and a condo in the city where he spends his winters. He's holed up at his farm this winter because he doesn't want to get it.
My 88 year old grandma hasn't left the house and ate Christmas dinner over zoom.
Both are taking the vaccine as soon as it's available.
Old people don't invite death just because they're old.
