I live in a smaller community, a town in Illinois with roughly 20,000 people. We have 11 reported deaths due to covid right now. The problem I have is I directly know the son of one of the guys who died, who said his dad was not in a good way anyway and was not going to make it regardless. And Another one of the 11 had the family on ******** saying the same thing. I haven't even took a closer look at other cases.

The books are cooked.

It's obvious you've never passed a middle school level Algebra class let alone a Statistics one. It would fall completely outside of the laws of probability for there to be 300k+ excess deaths without a major contributing factor to cause this change. What other factor besides Covid do you think accounts for this, when there are literally 19 million people who were diagnosed from it and 300k+ died shortly after catching the virus? I'm trying to get you to see the light but I think you prefer to stay stuck with your delusional viewpoints so I'm probably wasting my time.

I believe that I read there was some possible evidence that the Moderna vaccine could actually keep you from getting/spreading the virus, while there wasn't any evidence either way for the Pfizer vaccine. That was supposed to be the reasoning behind telling people they still have to wear a mask and maintain social distancing even if they have had the Pfizer vaccine- you could still get it and could still spread it to other people, but the odds of you having "severe illness" was greatly reduced.

Dude. It's because the disease has been overhyped. The excess deaths are not a result from covid, it's from the way we are handling it.

More people died from non-covid related pneumonia and flu than covid this year, which was 200-300% more than normal. Look at the ****ing numbers. On top of that, people are dying WITH covid, not FROM covid.

And you libs think I'm the idiot. Jesus. ****ing. christ.

I bet the 86 year old was thrilled his last months were spent not being able to see family and friends. Avoiding holiday celebrations. Not being able to attend sporting or entertainment events.

Not to minimize deaths, but deaths happen. No spread has been stopped, its likely that 20% of Americans have gotten the disease (15% in November from Wall Street Journal) and we've all likely been in contact with someone, probably scores of people, who has it but just didn't get sick (thx immune system).

All you guys did was make life miserable for people who listen to your rules, cost billions of dollars, closed businesses that people worked lifetimes on, etc... all so you could feel safe.

Well done.

The point was never to stop the spread, but to slow it. You're sure death and case numbers would be the same if nothing was done? Even the reddest of redneck states have implemented the use of masks.

Well it's a fact that a lot of preventative measures went away because of COVID. Hell, I know my insurance didn't mandate a wellness exam this year for example. A lot of people were scared to go to hospitals for fear of catching COVID. So yes there was/is absolutely an impact on other health issues.

We won't know how drastic until the COD comparisons come out and not just the raw numbers.

What makes me sick in the head for saying that my relatives aren't living life as normal? Partly because they don't want to, partly because they can't?

What exactly was it about my post that angered you?

Also, you don't find it a bit ironic that you accuse Canada of CCP propaganda and yet mock your countries biggest news channel in the same post?

Actually no they haven't. Florida has no mask mandate and isn't even in the top 50% of states by infection rates, and has 5x less deaths per 100,000 than the leading state. All despite having the 5th highest median age.

Try again.

Cos you and your family sound like brainwashed cucks. Talking bout how your granny aint left the house and you zoom her for christmas. Yall brainwashed bro.

I happily spent Christmas with my family and we are doing perfectly fine.

You should see the airport the day before Christmas eve...the only thing that showed that there was a pandemic going on was the masks. Remove the masks, and it'll look like a normal December 23rd. The 6ft crap, limit of amount of people, etc wasn't even a thing in the airport. Why a small business has to have a limited number of people yet in an airplane you can have like 100s of people in extremely close and tight proximity?

You're brainwashed bro.

Do you watch CNN yes or no?

Masks are a joke. Lockdowns are a joke.

We’ve been forced to wear masks in my state since this started. People look at you like they want you dead if you walk into a store without one. Cases are supposedly through the roof. My girlfriends parents hadn’t left their house in weeks and somehow got it. They’re fine.

This is nothing more than an agenda to turn the US into North Korea. Slowly get people to accept total government control and loss of their rights, then get them used to some “free stuff” (stimulus money) and boom, they got their communism and socialism without ever firing a shot. Slowly but surely we’re being cucked. And people are begging for more of it. Over a mild cold.
