You might start by going and reading Elinor Greenberg on Quora- person actually specialized in NPD/BPD/AvPD who is qualified and licensed.
Whole Object Relations (WOR): This is the capacity to integrate the liked and disliked parts of a person into a single, realistic, stable picture—as opposed to alternating between seeing the person as either all-good or all-bad.

Object Constancy (OC): This is the ability to maintain your positive emotional tie to someone while you are feeling angry, frustrated, hurt or disappointed with the person.

These are both normal developmental achievements that are generally developed during the course of childhood when the child is raised by parents who themselves have these abilities.

Not everybody is raised in a family situation that models these behaviors sufficiently to help the child attain them.

Maybe narcissistic style or traits, but NOT the diagnosable malignant disorder. A diagnosed disorder is pretty rare, or so I've read. And it's supposedly on all the main social media platforms, not just this little section of a "bodybuilding" site. Our world has become even more competitive, and high tech just allows these styles/personality traits to "dominate" or influence, so to speak. This is our world today. I can't imagine it in just 5 years...

I just read below, and I have to say that there is such a thing as "false empathy," or cold empathy. It's simply not true that narcissistic styles of communication lack empathy. It just may not be genuine with some people, and there are so many factors as to how or why that is. There is NO black or white answer- only shades of gray, as with most things.
Fact: My first-generation uncle was a boxer who fought Sugar Ray Robinson! He also fought in the war, sacrificing the career he deeply loved, so people could have the right to freedom.

Let's show RESPECT for the POLICE and ALL FIRST RESPONDERS by helping to keep THEM SAFE AND SOUND, and thereby able to PROTECT US!
