One thing for sure.

Tesla could be $2000 in year.
Just makes the bubble even bigger.
$40 billion was lost this year betting against Tesla.

Ended today -1.3% which sucks because it puts me like a laughably minuscule amount below my 3x I hit this week.
I have a LOT of chit expiring starting 1/15, and so far a lot is red lol. I’ve been talking A LOT about selling options lately, would anyone be interested in seeing progress of the process? Like how it can go from green to red but even that isn’t necessarily bad and can show how and why what’s happening?

Not sure what percent I finished 2020 up because I'm not entirely sure how much I've put in of my own money, think I've put in 27Kcad and am around 105K now, was just under 120 on Monday but SPAC happened lol.

It shows that my contract is worth $5.15 instead of the $3.60 I sold it for.
If I’ve learned anything: that doesn’t mean I’ve lost money, it just means I could have made more, if I sold the same put today.
Regardless, I don’t mind owning 100 shares at 94 so the difference in premiums just means I could have sold it for a larger premium if I sold today rather than yesterday.
It doesn’t take any of the premium I’ve already collected?
There is no they…

chino3 - do you have a specific way of choosing CC dates ? What do you look for when you want to sell CCs at a specific date ?
For example why do you recommend 2/19 for pltr ? Why not 2/12 or say 2/26 ?
Does it have to do something with earnings or lock up period expiry ? Because those are around those dates.
I too have some pltr bags but I was thinking it would be smarter to get rid of them late january or early february to avoid the potential lock up expiry dump, and maybe buy the dip instead when that happens ?
Whats your take on this ? Maybe it would be smarter to go for 1/29 or 2/05 ?

Just based on stimulus being paid out, the price will probably reach $24 by Monday, so I would get assigned and keep the premium?

My cost basis was $27, and I sold calls at $24 for the longest time and then went hella Aggressive and went with $22 because I know how cucked it was. Never got called away lol. In your situation, PLTR premiums are so juicy I’d be going over your strike and do it 30-45 days out for expiry. If you want to do weeklies I would do a strike of $27 just because the price action with PLTR is so retarded it could very well go up 10% in a week...
For everyone curious about the process, I will work on putting together weekly updates or maybe even a Tuesday/Friday update. Show the what and the why behind the trades, my goals, what it can look like and why you shouldn’t panic, and exit strategies.

A Hail Mary approach to it would be if it looks like it’s gonna expire ITM, is to buy the same amount of shares as close to the money as possible so those get called away. Just requires capital or margin ofc. I might do that with my TSLA $800 1/29 calls smh

I'm spending time today looking at the last several years of my trading and going to do more of what simply works, and less of what simply doesn't in 2021.
Sticking to the rules.
Anyone else get anally gaped during second half of 2018?
What in the fuk. I barely remember this, but I got severely fuked.

That being said: what's to stop me from opening a covered call for $24 strike price, potentially closing call at $23.9 (or getting assigned at $24), immediately buying shares after I get assigned, and doing another covered call for $24.50, etc etc? Couldn't I make a lot of money just collecting premiums on small price movements by intentionally getting assigned (or closing the call early) and buying back in?
I have a feeling it's not that simple.. been watching youtube videos and it makes sense that with covered calls your major setback is if the stock moons, but I don't see that as a problem because you could just immediately buy back in once you're assigned.
