Disclaimer: I'm not a financial advisor, and the following is not financial advice. The following is satire.

edit:If you do choose to invest, it's probably best to hold off buying until the price dips, which is expected to be soon. Also, you don't have to buy at once, you can buy a little every week or month, and accumulate over time. That way you take emotion out of investing, you just accumulate regardless of price.

I made the following thread on the 13th of December 2020 when Bitcoin was 19K, telling people the institutional money was beginning to pour into cryptocurrency...

https://forum.obnoxiousbrutes.com/showt...post1625438363

Bitcoin today hit 30K smashing it's all time high, and it's only January 2nd 2020.

I'm not saying that there may not be a big correction, but long term the trajectory by 2022 is that Bitcoin will be worth significantly more than it is today.

Please, DYOR - do your own research but IMO average people can get financially secure by riding the institutional money wave. Also, never invest more than you are OK losing. It doesn't matter what you invest in - the traditional market or crypto - the advise the same. All investment carries risk.

IMO BTC and ETH are IMO the safest bests to buy and HODL. Which means Hold On for Dear Life, which means holding long term, despite price fluctuations).

You can get a great Bitcoin wallet here...https://wallet.bitcoin.com/(scroll down to the bottom, for the desktop wallet).

You can get an Ethereum wallet here...https://metamask.io/

Edit: I recommend using https://brave.com/ with metamask, and using it in it's own browser session when open. Only opening tabs directly related to metamask. There are many tutorial on youtube for how to use metamask.

You can buy Bitcoin and Ethereum here:https://buy.plasmapay.com/

You buy Ethereum directly within the Metamask wallet.

Buying each month or so, and holding for years, is a strategy that a lot of people are doing because they believe that the price in the future will go up. You may choose to do the same.

I personally own no Bitcoin, and only a small amount of Ethereum for transactions fees. So I'm not shilling my bags.

Cliffs: Ded srs when I say that my main intention is to point people in what I believe is a good direction. The rich are going to get richer, pouring their money into this new market/industry whilst the average person waits on the sidelines and FOMOs in after old money make more money. I hope you look into holding some Bitcoin and Ethereum.

I have a friend like that, and he brought Bitcoin and has been holding for a year.

Like I said... Never invest more than you are willing to lose. That is the no. 1 advice anyone will ever give you when it comes to investing.

I've seen people invest their life savings, and either noone gave them that advice or they didn't listen to it. Either way it's a stupid (or desperate) thing to do.

I'm willing to lose the money that I've invested, it will piss me off but I won't be roping myself.

It is still quite bullish on an intermediate-term basis given that it just broke out to new all-time highs. I think we have a ways to go. Near term, my cycle composite shows us peaking out in early January.

I just don’t think that investors have quite the appetite for crypto while the institutions are certainly very much heading in that direction.
I think there will be some opportunity to buy dips into Q1 of this year

A correction surely must come.

I hope that I have a decent amount of fiat to buy the dip.

This is what I’m thinking. 80% chance the feds step in and it dumps . 20% it goes to the moon. Either way with Congress printing 10trillion in a year and giving it all to venture capital firms and Chinese friendly corporations the west is fuked anyway.

I'm very sceptical that the dollar will collapse any time soon. Though I do believe they are paving the way for a transfer to a CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency), which they are openly and actively researching.
china and russia already have their back backed
Yeah, China has already began rolling out their own CBDC.

China also has the majority of Bitcoin miners, though they aren't... Yet... Under CCP control.
crypto is going to become next level surveillance once everybody gets baited and switched
That's going to be a CBDC rather than cryptocurrency. A CBDC is centralized and the supply, wallets, and transactions can be manipulated. A cryptocurrency doesn't have those characteristics (though it can become relatively centralized if one entity own a majority of nodes).

The tech arguably is not ready yet for mass use for CBDCs. China is only trialling it, the tech takes work to be used at that scale.

I highly recommend watching this video if you haven't already, dude speaks about CBDCs and cryptocurrency...

I do think that is a valid perspective, another perspective is this...

The rich will always hunt for yields. Due to COVID 19 a lot of industry are stagnant or gutted. Crypto is new market and industry, with massive potential for high yields.

There were a lot of doomsayers after the 07/08 crash, but 'the elite' got the ball rolling for another 12 years (defying a lot of preppers expectations) by Q.E. and investing in new tech fields. This looks like it might be the same route. I do believe that the long term agenda is to transfer economics to CBDCs, but the tech isn't there to do it by the end of 2021.

Pretty much anyone in the crypto space will know that a centralized digital currency used by millions or over a billion people in a nation requires airtight tech, on a scale that doesn't currently exist. It will have to be faster than VISA and Mastercard, whilst also being centrally controllable. No easy task.

Not a get rich quick scheme, but it has gotten people rich.

Markets are about psychology, not utility. Even in traditional markets speculative investments fuel markets, stocks go up not necessarily based on earnings or utility, but because people are buying them to make money... They believe the price will go up, so they buy them.

Look at the housing market bubble, institutions were buying things like Credit Default Swaps enmasse. The market was not based on logic.

I've used this example on the misc before:

Look at Mcdonalds... Chit quality burgers. Absolute dog chit.

There are local burger joints that make much better burgers than Mcdonalds, yet people flock to Mcdonalds. Some people go because it's cheap, and there are people who will buy things at the same cost that you can get a local burger joint. Psychology is the reasons, the branding, the convenience, the environment, etc. People aren't making the decision based on logic.

Yep, blockchain technology is a here to stay, and is being used by non-profits, independent developers, and huge institutions.

We can choose decentralized blockchains (e.g. Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Monero, Nano, etc), or centralized ones (e.g. CBDCs).

Why did you post that?

We can choose decentralized blockchains (e.g. Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Monero, Nano, etc), or centralized ones (e.g. CBDCs).

Why did you post that?
I posted the wrong thing nvm I don't trust crypto and I really don't like all the idiots hyping it up so much right now.

Messomi, I'll say this though...

Regulators have been pressing centralized/corporate exchanges to not allow people to buy privacy coins (cryptocurrencies that hide transaction history).

Monero, Zcash, etc.

Bitcoin transactions can be tracked - and if you link your ID to the Bitcoin account - people can track your entire transaction history, and the amount you have.

One of the biggest flaws of most cryptocurrency is that it's like cash, meaning when you open your wallet anyone can look in and see how much cash you have. Privacy coins encrypt and hide your transaction history.

If I had a large amount of cryptocurrency, I would transfer and hold it in Monero, and other privacy coins...

(This brah gives hardcore advice on digital privacy. If I was an investigative journalist or hardcore political activist, he gives great advice.)

Letting anyone know, anti virus software will block Monero desktop wallet, because they have a miner installed in it. Cake Wallet is an app that doesn't have that issue, it can only be used on a Smartphone...https://cakewallet.com/

There are emerging privacy coins... But I'm keeping them under wraps, because I want to buy them for cheap .;-)

Bitcoin Cash is not a privacy coin, but it has a privacy wallet. So, if you use the wallet it will make Bitcoin Cash a privacy coin...

Bitcoin Cash's privacy wallet, and Monero are what I advise people to use to store large amounts.

I think the biggest downfall bitcoin faces is if the government finds a way to regulate, tax it, etc.

The U.S. taxes it's citizens for every single exchange. You also get taxed when you convert cryptocurrency to fiat.

They can't tax the cryptocurrency directly, honestly impossible.

Regulation is increasing. The 'KYC' (know your customer requirements) for centralized/corporate exchanges means that you identity is directly linked to your purchase of cryptocurrency. There are ways of buying cryptocurrency anonymously though.

The U.S. is moving in hard with it's pressure on centralize/corporate exchanges. Which is why I support decentralized exchanges, and buying crypto through unconventional ways. But for noobs, there's no point in advising that IMO. Plus, once you buy you can relatively easily 'disappear' your ID from the cryptocurrency forever (just swap the cryptocurrency to Monero, and then keep it as Monero or swap into another wallet that isn't connected to any ID that you have, or social media account.)

It blows my mind there are people who still doubt crypto. All the great creations in the last 30 years have been internet based. What makes you think the next generation in currency wouldn't be? Bunch of boomers still writing checks
