Download the chess.com app. I think they have a lot of resources for teaching the fundamentals to beginners.

The learning curve is extremely steep brah, just like lifting you will hit your natural plateau within 6 months or a year and can step up your game to studying theory then, if you wish.

Always suspected, but never knew chessbrah was an actual poster here. He has that miscer sparkle in his eye, so I'm not surprised.

Hope this club holds... Got into it when covid attacked in March then stopped it a few months back - Even took a couple of $20 lessons from some IM in Serbia - If Misc is starting this up, I'm back in it srs. I just had no one around who played so slowly lost interest.

Couldn't find you on chess.com searching your misc username brah? We're at 5 members. If you are in too that's six and that's the minimum for a tourney I think. Plus DrewDarden is going to set one up and I'm sure we can find another brah soon enough.

I suppose we need to come up with an official club name though.

Chessbrahs seems too derivative so I'm thinking "White Knight Crew", "lol @ checkers srs", "Miscellaneous Chess", or "The *******'s Defense" (lol @ chess.com not aware of misc slang to block such pejoratives).

Now accepting applications tho so let's get this done brahs. Once we have a quorum we can make a poll thread if the decision seems contentious.
