Why are tradies so... (pics)

... damn lazy?

Got a contract to rebuild a bathroom and as I got to taking down the ceiling, I notice a pile of garbage that was dumped there by the ******* who did work here previously. I even found a beer bottle cap in the rubble, this is why we chit on tradies.

One thing I noticed with every contractor is that they blame each other on how bad of a job the previous one did.. Just to do the same chit as them..

And I have many years of experience with them.

He actually did a fine job upstairs. The clean up wasn't, dumping all the rubble underneath before you seal it back up is lazy and sloppy.

That's a pretty clean pipe. I don't use wax personally, I prefer the thick gaskets.

There's this type of chit everywhere in homes, I feel like there's always some sketchy ass chit once you open the walls and ceilings.

Also with those sharkbites, no thanks jeff. Only use those in accessible open locations like the boiler room or after I open a wall for a quick fix.

Absolutely this.. when I remodeled my master bath and was getting bids for the thing after the demo... literally one after another just wanted to dump on what the last one did wrong and promise what they're going to do better but didn't really say how. I hired the guy that didn't talk bad about the job of the last one instead focused on actual solutions and came up with some amazing suggestions. It is that hard to rely on people to be professionals these days.

It's an old building brahs so those sharkbites were probably common back then. The owner also wanted me to leave the set up as is, I had to actually weld some new pipes because the old ones were fuked.

Also this is not my career, I worked several years in forestry and now this is a side hustle while I'm back in uni.

I agree bad mouthing your competition or previous jobs is a no go in any field, yet so common. I did not say chit to the owner, just found it lulzy and wanted to share that + the job.

Having been around tradies for years, can confirm that most are legit dumb. The ones who aren't and know how to be professional make it to the top of their area from what I have seen.

Lol'd at calling tradies lazy. We just understand the game and put in the minimum amount of work to get paid. Brb charging for 12 hours of work and doing it in 4.

It's not just contractors that chit on other contractors. We often run multiple shifts, day/night shift and different overlapping rotations, and the first task for every crew on each shift is to chit on all the work the previous shift did

I remember i was at a local convivence store and dudes were like power washing or some ****, and a group of tradie customers were standing rhere sipping coffee and critiquing the work to each other

I have no interest in screwing my client, he is a good man and I will gain more by doing a good job with him than by being lazy.

I remember my warehouse days as a teen, everybody chits on everybody. I think it's the norm. Even right now in school classmates are chitting on each other during group projects.
