Would Thanos' idea be a necessary evil in this clown world?
A lot of people say it's wrong, I'm sure we all agree. But the brutal truth is that humanity has gone downhill is because of stupidity we allow.

The only impausible thing in the movies was that all of the Avengers somehow miraculously survived the snap.

Depends on the motivation. To prevent Earth's destruction / inevitable loss of hospitality for humanity? Some say it's too late already and unpreventable, but I guess going Thanos might extend it some generations.
How would you choose who dies? Is it based on income? Education? Age?
I think in terms of determining the priority system, it might be something like...
Death Row Inmates > Terminal diagnosis people > High Risk / Long Sentence / Frequent Flyer Inmates > Elderly age 85+ > ... as far as you can take it I guess, qualifying education, income, health conditions, IQ, age.

If Thanos wasn't an idiot he would have put his resources into increasing agricultural productivity and reducing food waste as opposed to murdering billions of people. I mean, are we seriously supposed to believe that an advanced civilization which has mastered interstellar travel and has engineering skills we can't even fathom didn't figure out how to grow more food? Even here on Earth the United States produces enough raw foodstuffs to satisfy the entire planet.

I think governments would rather keep healthy, non-disruptive, younger, educated, productive folks around. As opposed to implementing some random system.

Killing billions is an oversimplified solution that is worse than whatever problem you think it would solve.

I haven't watched the movie, but I was watching a YouTube video where they were saying that that movie was the book of Revelation, just from satan's perspective. Thanos was supposed to be Jesus. They are making Him out to be the villain.

Also you're the idiot, what would increasing food production do outside of increasing the population? Bigger population means bigger carbon footprint destroying the planet. If you're gonna call someone an idiot at least think of a better idea. Hell, bigger agriculture itself destroys land and the habit of other species. You just made the situation worse Einstein

Possibly unpopular opinion but I still think Marvel should've ended with Infinity War. Endgame felt too fanlike from a story perspective whereas IW had a clean-cut ending.
As per your idea it'd probably only making things worse as everyone collectively loses their minds over wtf just happened and stuff like global food trade grinds to halt.

I'm not entirely sure what his idea is because superhero movies are for *******s, but if it's purposefully eliminating half of the population to save the world, that is exactly what current events are about.

We know we can do this obviously as they possess ships capable of interstellar travel. Why do you think the Vikings left Scandinavia and began raiding Europe in the Middle Ages? The population exceeded the ability of medieval agriculture to sustain and so there was population pressure to expand.Advanced civilization? The Avengers didn't share their abilities with the human race.

And there are certainly ways of growing food without increasing the carbon footprint. Again, they can travel millions of light years through space but they can't grow more food, in an ecologically responsible way? That's asinine.
