Lilly puppy pic

Back in 2011 when I still hadn’t learned how to take pics of dogs without the “pet eye” from the flash had to turn off flash settings.

More recent.

Ps. Blackjack has adjusted well without her since she died of cancer related issues.

I hope everyone itt is taking good care of theirs.

Looking back they were really close though. Blackjack followed everything she did. Never bred. She was very motherly to him though.

Legz that is odd. BRB cleaning out my Imgur . It was essentially my pets photo account I don’t use it much now. Maybe I need to delete a lot of the junk I added to it when I used to breed reptiles and fish.

You don't need an account anymore to post on Imgur! I don't have an account and upload pictures freely.

Oh those pics are so sweet. I'm glad Blackjack is doing good.

Oh no, I meant here when I was quoting your post. For some reason I couldn't get it to post without deleting one of your pics here.

Beautiful dog, the color pattern(maybe aging?) on his face is very unique. And at 10 years old he still has a lotta life left!

I haven't posted in here in a long time... My sweet little boy lost his other eye in May, and it took a fukkin lot out of me. I won't go into detail, but I will say that he has become a gigantic inspiration, and I love him more than ever. And despite the obvious challenges, I have to say, he does soooooo much better on his walks than when he had his jenky eye lol. It's legit amazing to watch him learn new places hella quickly, and then navigate like he's fully sighted. anyways, on to the pics

and yes, the puppy is still around, and she is somehow an even bigger pain the ass than ever, but she's cute af so she still has a home with us lol

Thank you. He was dark brown/black nose when I adopted him. His face started turning white around 2 years old and his nose turned pink. His sister had the same thing but her white was on her body not her face. So guessing genetics that came from his father, since his mama stayed dark her whole life.

Dogs are so damn resilient. No physical setback gets them wallowing in sorrow. Always a joy to watch videos of dogs that have had traumatic events happen to them only to come out on the other end full of life.

[img]https://i.imgur.com/iM3J1Tq.jpg
Glad to hear he's doing well brah

2020 was a rough year for me on the pet end of things. Lost our one bunny Lilou but it seemed like her sister Luna would be around for a while longer. After spending some time improving Luna's play area on the main floor a couple weeks ago, I sprinkled some raisins (their favorite treat) in the cage area for her to hunt. Not sure if she was dealing with molar issues and that contributed or what, but she ended up choking on either the raisins or pellets and didn't make it.

Never lost a pet or someone close to me before and I'm not gonna lie, watching her struggle and then die in my arms has not been the easiest thing to deal with. Passing away is one thing, they lived almost a decade each, but the way she went was not ok and I'm hit with guilt whenever I think about it. Probably seems a tad lame to people who have lost multiple pets but these are not feels I was expecting to feel

Anyways RIP to these two, it was good

I am sorry to read about that loss.

I have 2 chinchillas which share a few similarities. Hay based, play area and raisin treats. Plus long lifespans.

Right now it’s me, Blackjack, the double chins and a 125 gallon.

Sorry for the loss but maybe can give tips on playtime area? I struggled to chin proof their little room or to find the right gate .

Interesting stuff, never saw a dog with that kind of color. Btw he has a bit of a derp look in his face lol.

It's more for them to have something to scratch that's not your furniture, carpet, etc.

The Butcher rocking his newest accessory. Really got it so people would engage before just petting him. He LOVES pets, but he needs to hear a command first otherwise it scares the chit out of him lol. It's really fukkin cute though, you say "Comin' in" and his ears get super wide and kind of dips his head in preparation of scritches.

I have! Based on experience and research on owning boxers since age 22, I found the best kind of new boxer to introduce to an established boxer to, is a pupper. A Puppy is easier for the existing dog to accept into the pack.

I had a girl in mind but while the other puppies were all playing, acting like wild Indians, he was sitting in the corner on newspapers all quiet. He is The runt too.

I can’t wait for blackjack to show him the ropes! Should be fun times!

I waited awhile it’s coming up on one year since I lost Lilly. Just able to do it now.

You've probably posted this already but what's the backstory here? Was he born blind? Did he go blind after you got him?

Probably bits an pieces here and there but...

He was a true rescue from a back yard breeder and came to us with a plethora of health issues, most notably only being born with one eye (over breeding of designer dogs often results in severe issues). And that’s actually where he got his name, after Bill The Butcher from Gangs of New York.

His only eye was jenky and was at risk of actually popping out his skull. Ded fkn srs. When we had his pallet resection surgery we also got him an eye lid tuck so to speak to try to “pinch” the corners to almost support his eye. We got through three years but he always struggled with depth perception and sometimes even recognizing things. He had a freak accident one night (almost a year ago now) and the eye hit its limit and finally popped. They couldn’t save it. I was absolutely gutted and went super emo...

But this little dude not only recovered but he crushed it. He maps out places hella quick, and actually does better on walks now lol. I think it’s because he doesn’t have the same “distractions” with the old jenky eye. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It’s really fukking amazing watching him navigate our place, and even seek out the puppy to play. Melts our hearts every time lol
