Remember just a couple weeks ago you were asking about locking in profits at $635-ish? I don't know where/how this will end, but I will just say that I am nervous about my $800 covered calls getting assigned. I feel there is strong support in the low 600's, but we may see low 700's as a reasonably strong support level with spikes here and there. This is a tough one to play tbh.

This is the price range the birthed my favorite line from this thread, by topper, "My chest" lol

Also, just found another 401k account I forgot about. Working on transferring that whopping $8k to TDA asap!

Are you withdrawing from your 401k to invest in the market? Or borrowing?

Anyways, I've been answering my own questions with covered calls, think I have a pretty good handle on it now. It's very interesting, I don't like day trading because it requires constant focus, but what I'm finding is that I can potentially make consistent income with covered calls on a week to week basis and just hold my shares. Each CC I open gets me about $200-300 or so assuming strike price isn't reached.. so if I do 4-5 of those a week that's an easy $1k just off the premiums. If I do hit strike I pick a point where I get some decent gains on my shares so it's a win win.

The bigger question I'm trying to figure out is #1 - how to get good at flipping CCs and #2, what other options strategies to move onto with a low risk.

Sorry, missed your earlier question. I typically do 30-45 DTE when selling options, as the premium is beefed up to allow for theta decay as expiration gets closer, also allows for more time/room to adjust if need be if things go south somehow. That said, weeklies are good for grinding out premiums with less potential for crazy swings (theoretically).

As for my 401k, I had 3 accounts from employers over the years, but none of them were accounts that I could trade within. So I rolled them over to a traditional IRA (no tax penalties) at TDA, and can trade them like normal, but also avoid any of the tax bull chit.

Do you flip your ccs before expiration? Id imagine thats fairly profitable right?

Definitely can be, but some times I find myself in a situation where I am having to wait until the day of expiration to get back in the green. Real quick hypothetical:

I sell a CC on XYZ with a strike of $100 and a premium of $10.
The days leading up to expiration the stock runs up to $99, I am most likely in the red because it still has IV on it's side
Let's say the day of the stock actually goes up to $105. I can still end up in the green because of the intrinsic value of the premium, and I could sell at that point for a profit (most likely $5 minus some IV since chit can still happen after hours)

But for a real life scenario, at the beginning of December, I think, when RKT had a run up I opened up CC's for a strike price of $26. That almost immediately went into the green when it naturally started crumbling again. I've been at 50% or greater profit on it since mid December, currently at 95%, and it doesn't expire until 1/15. I could of course close it out now, and only leave $200 on the table, or just ride it out.

So pissed I let my potato mother of all people talk me out of buying TNA Calls yesterday when I went over to take down her Christmas lights. She was begging me to sell everything before the market closed, I didn’t sell anything.

Apple calls eating chit too, NFE calls keep making me money every month though, whenever there is a big sell off, I buy up more calls

“All of the sudden”

You use that argument a lot when talking to people on here. Why is that? Does someone’s view only matter if there is a documented history of them talking about it?

Is he wrong or is he right?

Imagine dismissing any and every topic someone brings up simply because it’s the first time you saw it.

What an odd approach.

Update on the stock plays I gave out 30-40 days ago.

RVVTF shared at .21. Hit .72 and currently at .53. Up 350% at its high and holding at 150% up.

MITI shared at .021. Telemed stock just getting started. Has been climbing the past 3 weeks and is currently at .039. Up 90%.

RXMD shared at .032. Unchanged at .032.

CTYX shared at .029 is the next to go. Currently at .037 up 30%. This bio tech should be trading with a market cap 100 x higher as they have a licensing deal with the National Inst of Health for a cancer drug treatment. Chart is very bullish and imo could be trading north of 50 cents by end of Jan as a number of news events are scheduled.
