Any boyos here experience repetitive stress injury? (Warehouse brah)
My grip strength is getting weaker and weeker, wrists and hands are feeling weird and fukt for the past few weeks. Last week it became painful and I had to stop work, take a break and massage my forearms. Workplace has an on site clinician (like a doctor) who deals with stuff like this and gave me some stretches. They've worked so far but still have the sensation that my hands are not 100% and not improving. Basically I can work, but feels like snap city might happen.
Job is basically grabbing 1,200 8-30 lb packages and placing them on pallets 8-10 hours a day.
So why don't I go to the doctor? I just got a transfer and I'm starting next week in another state. This couldn't have come at a worse time. I feel like if I go to the doc now and puts me on light duty for a month I'll have wasted everyone's time and it just doesn't look right coming into a new workplace. I just might have to if this gets worse. :-(
Any advice brehs? Specifics, big picture, or even pointing out how damn dumb I am I don't care. This chit sucks, management scoffs at guys taking extended leave for every little thing and now it might be me. Proud as fuk and don't want to look bad here. Fukking hell.

Brace/tape to limit/remind not to move in the direction that causes inflammation. MEAT/RICE principles at all other times.
Got it so bad when I was about 22 to the point I couldn't hold a pool cue without it swelling up and hurting like chit.
Hasn't troubled me since I managed to shake it though. You only get 1 body though brah and you owe nobody at the expense of your health and wellbeing. Took me too long to learn that.

it's probably your gloves or lack of. or you're pinch gripping. never pinch grip even if it's a small box. i don't think there's ever a time when you have to actually grip something in warehousing except for your machine. i've worked in maybe 5 warehouses, was a warehouse supervisor for 5 years for a huge company and two warehouses.

Eat nutritious healthy foods, lots of water.
Sleep 7-8 hours every night.
Multi vitamin/fish oil.
No other suggestions will be more effective than the basics besides maybe the preemptive measures like gloves as mentioned above.
Also, make sure you deadlift. Lol

Things I'm grabbing are corners of bottles, I'm probably abusing the heck out of my hands. Reading up on the hand, wrist, and connective tissue is pretty interesting. Thanks again man. Probably a culmination of years and years of grabbing. Definitely being more careful from now on. Used to be a hot shot and grab 30 lb packages 2 at a time by my fingers when I first started haha, good times....or not so good now. :-/

Lol at warehousecels.
Srsly though:
In another life, I worked as a roofer. Not only does that chit destroy your body, but it can kill you. Brb jagged glass sliding past your wrist because the guy on the roof above you dropped it. Brb climbing ladder in uneven wet mud puddle. Brb slippery wet 3-story roof from rain.
Get out of these tradiecel/labourcel jobs brah - let someone else do it. Plenty of below average IQ *******s find better jobs. They’re out there

I’ve had RSI of my wrist and fingers. Couldn’t write or type for at least 6 months and only around a year later of not writing/typing with that hand did I fully recover. The reason it takes so long to heal is because RSI causes tendon microinjuries through chronic overuse and tendons take a much longer time to recover than muscle because they don’t have as much of a vascular supply. The only way to deal with it is to rest your affected limb and not do the actions which injured you in the first place for as long as possible ...which could take months depending on how bad it is. I know how much it sucks man
