Boss making threatening remarks again
The other day in the office I said "I wish I could go home now" or something like that in a half-joking manner like people do. He overheard me as he was walking by, and he leaned in and said "yeah, well there have been times I've wished I could throw you out that window over there, but we don't always get to do what we want". I don't think anybody else heard. I'm thinking of contacting HR, but I'm scared he will just deny it. What to do?

sort of depends on the state.
if you go to HR, i wouldnt at all be surprised if they retaliated and made a plan to get you canned. not even kidding.
most recently, i started asking some questions about our boss and his [lack of] security clearence, dude wearing sunglasses inside places they still constructing [OSHA issue], him legit touching damn near everyone of us even tho I personally told the ba$tard to stop, about a $9/hr wage gap between people of color and some white's all things being equal and a general hostile work environment, well, next thing i knew was the division mgr flew in from Texas, interrogated 4 of us, covered his a$$ and the companies then other chit happened that was clearly retaliatory.
so bottom line is going to HR will put you on their radar for chitcanning. been there done that. only do it if you plan to leave the company and document every damned thing you can. thats gonna be your ammo if you need it. date/time/place/people present.
