nothing teaches you more physical and mental toughness than boxing

use to box..now purple belt in BJJ and boxing is the GOAT. wrestling is close in toughness but no other sport or martial art teaches you the physical and mental toughness AND the ability to take a punch to the jaw than boxing. I still remember stepping into the ring my first time sparring and then my first amateur fight. I was sweating in anxiety before I even touched the ropes.

I love all martial arts but pick a fight with 100 wrestlers or BJJ guys and I bet you’ll get many that squirm up...pick a fight with a well trained competitive boxer and I guarantee none are backing down. obviously MMA fighters too but trying to staple into one disciple whereas MMA guys are training everything so doesn’t really count.

Why did you go from boxing to Bjj? The blokes who do BJJ look like they are scared to take a punch srs.

As someone who has done wrestling, kickboxing, and boxing--you are wrong. There is nothing that will compare to the mental and physical toughness required and built from wrestling. Even muay thai supercedes boxing. Boxing is a joke in comparison.

Stand alone: If taking a punch is important than muay thai. If learning how to take physical abuse is important than wrestling.

boxed during college years..got mono and was out for 3 months..came back and coaches left and gym felt different so left.

wasn’t any other true old school gym in my area so decided to take on BJJ. ****ing love it but nothing beats training at a TRUE boxing gym aka one where you feel like you will get stabbed or shot at night

i do kickboxing but am more scared of any move in bjj than taking a punch, because i know what they can do, i know how strong those holds are. my coach teaches both kickboxing and bjj, i am way more scared of his bjj. it's like a deadly snake getting a grip on you and ur ****ed

i am waaay more scared of being a victim of a jiu jitsu take-down than any move in kickboxing. i've been taken down by a single leg takedown. it's scary as **** compared to getting hit lol

There is only one Hell: the one we live in now.

I've done both, I think wrestling is harder but boxing hurts more.
The training is nothing, the will is everything. The will to act.
