I eventually outgrew wanting to get wasted.

I'll still drink from time to time but haven't gotten drunk in years.

I think most people outgrow that desire.
The billionaire and the beggar both have 24 hours in a day.

That's why grandma's apple pie rocks and yours sucks.

LOL IDK if willpower is the right word, drinking was never something I loved to do.

Were your parents alcoholics?

I remember my parents drinking when they were younger but they slowed down quite a bit in thier 30's or so, same as me.

I wonder if me stopping drinking was like some subconscious thing that I learned from them?

Like if my parents just kept drinking and drinking that might sdubconsciously make me more apt to do the same?
