firearm people

I went to get my first gun a few months ago and had backround check get delayed and expired after 30 days with no answer. I went back 3 months later and tried again with another delay and it's been 3 weeks already. Is there anything I can do besides wait?

Where do you live? Is this at the same store as the first time? I bought a couple of guns last month and the background check took 15 minutes.

It’s permissible for the dealer to transfer the gun after three business days without a response from NICS. That said, the state you’re in or the dealer you’re working with might get in the way of that. If they won’t do that, and you can’t get past a delay, you might need to file a voluntary appeal file. It’s possible you have a similar name to a prohibited person or possibly some misdemeanor from your past is causing the delay when it shouldn’t. Hard to know.

Ya it's an AR. Have $2k to spend and the store is a build your own they have some nice pieces. Im in NY and the dealer said theres a new law that they can't do the 3 days rule anymore. I did have 2 misdemeanor charges thatwere dropped to violations about 3 years ago
