any miscers currently belong to a boxing gym??

are old school gyms a thing of the past?

**** man..as I am putting returning to BJJ on hold right now I am looking to getting back into boxing for the time being. I boxed throughout college at an old school gym which was $40 bucks a month in an area I probably wouldn’t walk around past 8pm.

now I’m searching for gyms in my area and the gyms might look old school but the memberships are crazy. some $150 plus a month, weird membership options (I literally called a gym and they went through different prices and mentioned personal training and pad work pricing PER ROUND).

back when I boxed it was one fee, I came in did warm ups and the coaches just went around and a couple days a week were dedicated to sparring. is everything now class structured and scams?

Yeah you would be surprised how many gyms there are but a lot of them focus on classes because that's where the money is. But plenty of them still train amatuer fighters the regular way. You would be amazed how much amatuer boxing there is in every state and town in this country.

Boxing is awsome but its kind of a kids game, if your 20 and not pro youre late, most adults go to MMA gyms, so you'll see mostly kids in the modern boxing gym.

yup this I remember from when I was boxing

you either come in everyday with aspirations to make it and get off the streets or you are just another guy in the gym and will need to shell out cash to learn anything.

or if you are a natural and come in hitting like Tyson you’ll grab peoples attention
