Covid lockdowns/overhype has set a fukkin TERRIFIYING precedent

This chit is fukkin scary misc. If you just take a moment and think about how much fukkin power the media has over our lives, it is fukkin terrifying. Brb death rate is like .2 for elderly people.

Brb doomers are jerking themselves off while welcoming the "new normal"
Brb ruining peoples lives and our society to save a couple of grandmas and fatties
Brb can't even see the persons face of who you're talking to.
Brb nothing open, millions losing their businesses
Brb people have lost their fukking mind and recommending that police arrest people for throwing parties and to use police thermal heli's to check how many people are in a house (to fine if over a certain limit)
Brb people not leaving their fukking house cause of what the media has told them

this is so fukking surreal if you just slow down to think about. holy fuk misc.

The economic shut downs trouble me also.

There certainly is a lot of fear of the virus, but here in Florida where the state has been largely open, with some sensible safety measures in place, for some time people are still afraid of the virus but from everyone I've talked with old and young, are happy that the state is not shut down.

A lot of people I know have already become totally accustomed to the lockdowns/restrictions/mask bullchit. Basically, if those things didn't personally effect them more than covid did (like a grandma they knew of died from it or something), then they side with the panicel crew. They're even fine with the idea of routine fall/winter lockdowns and indefite mask mandates. If it hurt themselves more personally, then they'd stop being so fine with it.

there may be hope as we are seeing more people turn down the vaccine than expected, specifically within medical professionals. Not a lot of data yet, but the fact that it is happening gives hope.

I remember first hearing rumours of Italy locking down I thought "that's never going to happen in a Western democracy" now it seems part and parcel of life, the gubmint will shut you down whenever they see fit and with very little pushback

I agree completely.

The world changed drastically in the span of less than a year, a lot of things have come to light and it's not looking good boyos.

I'm not a doomer, I'm just calling it as I see it,and I'm cleaning up my life and trying to be financially and mentally prepared in case things get worse. Things can get better, but I'm hedging my bets.
