The books that actually made a measurable impact in my overall life were the ones that taught me specific skillsets that I had to grind out/ practice on a daily basis until they became automatic:

For solidifying decision making skills: Decision Analysis by Howard Raiffa

For improving negotiation skills: almost too many to name, but here's the top three:
- the most comprehensive break down of all: 3-D Negotiation by Lax and Sebenius
- the best one incorporating politics: Shaping the Game by Michael Watkins
-the best one incorporating game theory: Bargaining Games by Keither Murnighan

For re-programming automatic negative thinking: Cognitive Therapy book series by Aaron Beck

For re-programming automatic negative schemas: Schema Therapy by Jeffrey Young

The books that made a difference for increasing my awareness and understanding of life in general:

-For understanding how to earn money: Rich Dad, Poor Dad series by Rich Kiyosaki

-For easing my fear of death and giving me hope there is something after this life: After Life series by Raymond Moody

- For strengthening my belief in spirituality and making sense to this science of life: Physics of the Soul series by Amit Goswami

I remember reading "A Child Called "It"" in middle school and being super grateful for having loving parents. That's the one book I'll never forget reading.

this changed my life srs. but i also lost 50lbs and improved my fashion sense while reading it.

autism went from 100 to 30. now i can pass off as a normie.

wud recommend to wincel. srs.

it gives you steps to go through so you gradually work through how messed up your mind is. it's not some scientific book that just talks about anxiety.

then a few years later, i realized 80/20 so i gave up on life altogether.

Idk about changed me but there are definitely a lot of books that made me think and adopt certain beliefs.

Flowers for Algernon, Catcher in the Rye and The Alchemist are some fiction books that come to mind.

Wild at Heart By John Eldredge

Its got religious undertone. But even if you are not religious, the book has a lot of great stuff and points.

Brave New World, 1984, and Animal Farm should be required reading. They do help explain a lot of things that are happening on this crazy train. Seemingly accidental or innocent directions are just a stepping stones to their control.

But yes personal finance and Real Estate are always eye opening. just knowing market jargon + stories + the power of leverage.
