Transfered at work. Hate it. What to do? Srs

At the start of the new year. I transfered at work to a location closer to home. [Was previously driving 1.5hrs to work each way]

My current drive is about 15mins.


But I absolutely hate the new location. My boss is a soul and fun sucker. The entire staff is negative and equally hate said boss. [Entire staff is women.. i am the only guy]
Extremely unorganized messy and lack of general leadership.

I used to be excited to go to work. It was so fun and energizing..
and now I dread getting up to go to work.
Not sure how to approach the situation.
I've been with the company 10years and this is the first time I've legitimately HATED work and dreaded going in.


What am I supposed to do? Job market looks bleak.

If its a good paying job you basically have to sucknot up. 10yrs is a long time, hard to start over. Any chance you can go back at some point in the future?

I've been in that situation and it sucked. Fortunately I was able to relocate to a better place with a great supervisor.

I just go into zombie mode at work. Don't even care at this location.

Just kills me that I've had the top performing departments in the district multiple times, sometimes top in the company.

And now I legitimately don't even give a ****.

30 minutes of commute time and gas money compared to 3 hours' worth daily. Multiply that by 5, and you're talking 12.5 hours saved weekly. That's more than half a full 24 hour day, man.

25 days of total time saved in driving and gas money per year, assuming we factor in 4 weeks worth of vacation. Bro, I don't care how good of buddies you were with people at the old location. Unless they were paying you substantially more money to be there instead of your current location, it would make no sense to complain about tue trade off you got by moving to the closer location.

Just ignore the morons at work and do your job. 95%+ of jobs suck most of the time anyway. Work to live; don't live to work. Think of everything you could do with that extra 25 days of time and gas money saved. That's worth a lot, breh.

Last time I worked in a toxic work environment, I waited until the Holidays when I usually volunteered to work while the clique of femanazi's had off, then quit without notice and lived on credit cards until I found another job and moved.

I ended up defaulting on everything and did that 'Informal Bankruptcy' thing to where I just never paid it back and fought off a couple of lawsuits from junk debt buyers and came out on top.

It takes a lot for me to quit a job without notice, but some work places are unworthy of a notice. They wouldn't hesitate to fire you without notice if it served their best interests.

Do what I do when I’m around sloots at work, walk on eggshells . Sloots can come unglued extremely easily ,literally at the drop of a hat , so it makes for a toxic work environment unless your Chad .
Next problem , and it’s proven via the MRI , is that sloots make decisions from the emotional side of their brains .
This explains a lot about their behaviour and mental break downs . Like a wise man told me once , never put a sloot in a position of authority.

Save money. Meditate. Keep calm.


After 20 years working I found a great company aftet a long time out. First time I loved going to work.

Then covid and redundancy.

Found another job 3h from home. But don't know whether to love or to hate. Just carrying on.

Just do the tasks you are given with the best quality permitted by your boss.
Your reputation is all that counts.
Cycling, walking, swimming.
No car.

Do you know that for sure (like, did your old boss tell you if you transfer then there's no coming back) or are you assuming that's the case?

Either way . . . you don't get 100% of the things you don't ask for. Chat up your old boss and just be honest that you made a mistake and you're miserable and see where it goes. Worst case, you're stuck anyway and you can think of your next option. Best case, maybe the door opens and you can waltz back through.

Stop focusing on what sucks so badly about, and start thinking of what is good about the change. As long as they aren't trying to get you fired over some bs at the new place, then who cares? Go to work to do a good job and make money, then go enjoy your personal life outside of it. Never forget that work is a hustle to earn money first and foremost. Making buddies/having a genuinely good time there are cool if it happens, but they are far from what should be your priorities in life.

Did you choose to get transferred to the new location or did your boss steer you towards it?

If you chose it, simply ask your old boss if you can come back. There is a good chance they will say yes if they liked you.

If you were pushed into the new location, and it wasn't a promotion but a lateral transfer you might be getting "managed out". (Especially if you are seeing lots of useless people getting transferred to your new location). If this is the case I would start looking for a new job.

I've been back consistently at the gym and meal prep for the work week.


I'm taking advantage of the extra time.

Its just the 40+ hours a week are now miserable and exhausting.
