This literally couldn't happen. That would be like taxing you before you even showed up to work. You know, taxing in anticipation of gains... impossible.

No, but who knows with SPACs. If it gets delayed for whatever reason, it will send it down for sure.

Retarded idea.
Just to be abundantly clear for all new comers, the $3k cap is if you are in the hole at the end of the year, and your losses are above $3k.

If I had positive trades in the amount of $100k, and negative trades in the amount of $40k, I would have realized gains of $60k, as in I will only be taxed on $60k not 100k. If you had $40k of positive trades, and $60k of negative trades, then you not only don't have any taxable gains, but you can deduct $3k of your -$20k net. The remaining $17k will roll forward etc.

Lettuce be real tea for a minute - the banking industry has far too much lobbying power to stop democrats from pushing such a bill through. Politicians themselves are heavily invested in the markets I’d imagine, they’d be shooting themselves in the foot voting this unrealized gains taxation in

Just a couple thoughts:

There would be zero incentive to be long a position. Depending on the frequency of the taxing, it could mean a HUGE increase in selling, because, why not? This will create volatility and prevent growth if there is consistent churning.

What about people who don't have money to pay these taxes, and that plays a role as to why they are long? In order to pay your taxes, you would either have to sell some of your gainers (which is a huge fukkin issue right there) or seek additional financial assistance.

It's hurting my brain trying to figure out how share prices would even move. All technical analysis fundamentals would be useless at that point.. the person who thought of this idea clearly has no idea what the fook they're asking for

All good bro, we're going to reopen 100% once vaccines are distributed. Surely there won't be another pandemic or disaster that keeps us locked down. Surely politicians and world leaders won't desire to implement even more draconian measures to control the population.

I'm more inclined to worry about whether or not a merger will be confirmed than Hindenberg, Lucid's management team is pretty legit, not getting a Nikola vibe from them.

Agreed. Even in Nikola's case, it had a massive run-up before finally getting exposed. And the stock is still somehow over $20.

If the merger goes through, I don't think there's much risk unless you FOMO in at $50 or something.

I think there’s so much hype around CCIV that if it doesn’t go it’ll flop to $12..

I prob will wait for the actual announcement and then fomo in, considering I bought VTIQ at like $32 after it was announced.

True on that part, just want this to go through and exit with gains.

I am just thinking it will trade very volatility after they merge because it soo hyped up.

Lucid delivery starts April.

One bad magazine review could cause panic. It would spread on twitter/reddit/discord etc

Other day Ford dropped right away as soon they made announcement that mach e mustang will delayed.

Its very likely that I don't hold through merger if this is confirmed. My plan is to exit on the pop after the DA and then go all in again on a SPAC near NAV.

I have $21 as sell, my gut keeps saying if there is any news they are in talks could push it to $25 even before they merge.

How hard people are probing and hyping on screenshots.

I think this is a hold through merger. Look at QS and NKLA. There is something about a ticker change sometimes that makes people go crazy and fomo

I guess I'm a bit disenchanted with merger holds considering I got destroyed on GRAF dropping like a rock.

Sweet baby jeeeebus. this market.

When you have EV stocks popping like this, it makes AMZN and Netflix look incredibly boring. I think that's a warning of madness to come.

GEVO up 78 % in one day!!!??! The fukkk....

for a conservative play, grab some ICLN. Energy ETF w/ room to grow. Ain't a grand slam up 50% in a week, but should do well over the next 4 years of Dems in control of government.

SRS.

Good luck boyos

Sellings puts above share price doesnt make sense. If youre that bullish youre far better off buying calls. Even leaps are cheaper. Unless im missing something here.
