Pup passed away 2 days ago, so sad not sure what to do brahs.

he was with me for 17 and a half years and i am beyond devastated. He wasnt in good health and he is in a better place but i miss him so much. how the **** do you brahs cope? I have lost most of my family and havent felt like this before

just put down my pet last night. as long as you did everything you could you shouldn't have any regrets. I have nobody to cope with either. just be around people. cherish the moments and compile all pictures and videos

Bro nothing I can say to help you. It just hurts. It hurts like hell and that is real, justified pain. I hope you can find joy and peace soon. Maybe wait a bit, and get another puppy and start over. You will never replace your pupper that died, but there are so many dogs out there that need and deserve that love you have. Your pupper had a good long life and is no longer sick, no longer in pain, no longer suffering, in a better place than us. Wish your pupper well, and try to make it a better world for another dog.

Thanks ofr the words broskis i really appreciate it, i currently have no motivation to do anything just to sad. Not sure if ill be strong enough to get another pupper, but perhaps one day. He was a happy sweet pup from the first day to the last, strongest man i ever met

sorry OP

When my last cat died I was pretty devastated for the first week then sad for several more. Gets better with time. I adopted another cat after a few weeks which helped me feel a lot better since I was able to give another cat a loving home.

There’s no timeline. That’s the burden we bear adopting them, we will usually outlive them. Just know he adored you and you put in the work to give him the best almost two decades possible. Do not rush it but he wouldn’t want you to be alone.

Damn I’m sorry OP. Losing a pet fukking sucks. My parents beagle is about to pass on and it’s sad thinking about it because him and my other two labs brought much joy to me when I was young. Sending you my wishes man.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

We had to put our family cat down last year October, he was with us for 18 years.

I will say this thread is hitting me in the feelz.

Its rough, he was fine for the longest time, then out of nowhere the kidneys stop working, drinking tons of water, not eating, can barely walk, etc.

Its a mercy, but every once in a while you'll be hit how much you miss them.

These feels haunt me to this day. Lost my little man 5 years and 1 week ago, and his sister passed 2 months later, and it the hurt is still VERY fukkin real and present.

But I will say, the absolute best piece of advice I heard about coping with loss, is in my sig.
