the movie "Chef"

Anybody seen it? It's on netflix. Jon Favreau seems to be very talented and actually has a real appreciation for cooking (he also has a reality show about cooking with a well regarded LA chef called "the chef show").

Fairly heartwarming, and made me SUPER hungry. I have only had one "amazing" cuban sandwich" in my life, and it was from a shell gas station owned by a catholic cuban family. Super yummy.

John Leguizamo is a national treasure. I tried making that pasta Jon makes for Scarlett and it turned out pretty decent.

I really like this film. I watch it every few months.

Made the Cuban sandwich they put up as the recipe (or at least as close as I could get). Making the Cuban bread was an ordeal - living at elevation really messes with bread. At least for me.

Great feel good movie. Srs. A good one for cheering yourself up.


The Fundementals of Caring is similar but besides that there are not many movies like Chef. I really enjoyed it.

lol it's true. It's kind of an "american dream" type movie in some ways, no matter how rare that may be. The character obviously LOVES his craft. And despite being an elite, Favreau really seems to have a passion for cooking and food.
