Not sure your entry points but tell me this:

You sold CC's for a total premium of $1750, but paid $10,190 to close it. Deduct that $8440 from your other sale. It's definitely not the wrong way to do things if you can come out ahead, but like I mentioned in my previous post, there's other ways to protect yourself. Including waiting to see if things die down. You had almost a month left on those contracts, that allows for a lot of correction plus theta decay.

My cost basis was around $28.50.

So:

Premium: +$1,750
Close the call: -$10,190
Profit from above $30: $8,000 (not counting the $1,500 from cost basis)
Net: -$440, or +$1060 if I factor in the profit from $28.50 to $30

I was thinking the same thing that there's still 3-4 weeks left for theta decay, but I started wondering if by tomorrow we start to move into the $40 range, it would suck to not see that profit, so I closed early. Good learning experience at the very least, now I know what the process feels like. Easier to say that IDGAF if my strike price is reached and the stock moons.. not so easy in practice.

I think the bigger loss here is opening up the call in the first place; had I not done it, would've kept that $8,000 profit.

I used to have an AVI of my traps and neck. I changed it a while back and tried editing my user title but this website is glitched and it will not let me change it anymore.

not sure, but it hasn't been tracking prices accurately for the past week. I find myself checking ST for updated pricing...

So essentially you raised the cost basis of your shares $8.44 assuming you have 1000 shares.

Absolutely possible later this week. Guessing tomorrow will peak at 200ish, halt several times, then come back down to 100. It's like a tug of war, highly doubt it will go sideways. Repeat until +1000 or big men intervene.

If everyone paper hands then it's over.

Days like this make me nervous. Scaled some of my plays conservatively but volatility sky high. 4.5K in premiums this week.

STO
PLTR- buy/write Jan29 42C x5
PLTR - Jan29 36P x5
AAPL - Jan29 165C
TSLA - Jan29 1100C x2

last weeks PLTR 30CC called away but made $2500 on the position not including option premiums earned.

Deepfawkenvalue peaked at around a cool $25 milli after it almost touched 150 lmao

Noobie question since I've never dabbled in options but can anyone explain what the 40C and $0.01 mean?
