Jordan was bigger than sports at the time.

Comparison is dumb. Jordan was a global icon for a reason. He made great players like Payton, Malone, and Stockton seem like chumps.

Lebron s great but today’s NBA is easier to put up stats cause of rule changes and faster pace of play/more possessions

False comparisons. Nobody wants to be as athletic as Brady because Brady doesn't rely on athleticism to win. It's like zero part of his game. There's tons of athletic quarterbacks in the NFL and few of them come close to Brady greatness. And shoes aren't even a football item. LMAO! Nobody wears "football shoes" cause they don' exist. BRB, gonna go grab some Favre shoes and some Ray Rice shoes... Seriously?

It’s flat out disrespectful to Jordan to compare him to any other basketball player, never mind one of his peers. He was that much better than everyone. ESPN and first take will compare him to Lebron for ratings and barbershop talk but nobody with even an IQ above 70 takes that argument seriously.

You can have an argument for Brady but there is 0 argument against Jordan. He’s basketballs goat
Peyton Manning was a massive playoff choker. He only won two superbowls and one of them was in spite of him. Peyton Manning only beats Brady at piling up meaningless regular season stats. The goal in the NFL is to win the SB, not to put up the most passing yards.

Yes, but Manning barely had a winning playoff record. Brady’s is 33-11, not to mention Manning had on average more talent around him than Brady had for much of the first half of his career.

I agree with your points about Jordan

But lol about Peyton being better than Brady. The first season Brady had weapons to rival Peyton he blew the doors off the league.

Yeah we’ve argued enough times over the years. Not gonna get into another circular debate with the same points as last time.

People outside of the US generally don't care about NFL.

Maybe GOATness is a different thing though vs. worldwide recognition and fame.

Sounds like you're listening to a minority of people posting in this thread considering there have been more people stating and agreeing that brady is the MJ of the NFL.
Granted I don’t follow the NFL nor Brady, but I still can give my opinion.

I simply don’t see how a player that is specialized in one aspect of a sport can be considered better than a player that mastered every single aspect of his sport.

It’s an unfair comparison for Brady tho I’ll give you that. Football success is the sum of the effort of 30-40 people, and basketball is mostly just 5 guys plus a few secondary players. Obviously a GOAT at basketball will stand out much more than a GOAT at football.

Im not stubborn, I can change my opinion. So far I Haven’t read anything that has changed it tho

Don’t really like these arguments much tho. Team achievements don’t tell the whole story

I'm sorry but Jordan aint doing this chit in year 18

46 points on 19/26 shooting

7-11 3 pointers

21 points in the 4th quarter

73% shooting

Only one free throw

I get it, but only 1 other QB has even been to 5

10 SBs, goes to one in his first year on a brand new team

He’s the common denominator on all of those teams.

I get that, that earns him the GOAT QB title, especially if he wins this SB

But Jordan is Jordan my man

When you're the only common denominator on all those teams it makes sense to attribute theiur success to him.

Watch this video about an ex NFL player talking about Brady's instant impact on teams:

Yeah I agree team achievements do matter, but when you are comparing him to Michael Jordan, IMO you need better arguments than team achievements.

Jordan is another winner, and he would have at least 7-8 rings had he never retired those 2 years.

No no no no no. This dumb narrative needs to stop that Jordan could have won 7-8 rings. HE WAS THERE AFTER 1 YEAR AND LOST TO ORLANDO, and the Bulls didn't have the team in place for their 2nd three peat the year he left nor the year he came back. They were losing to that Rockets team even IF they got to the Finals, but they lost to Penny and Shaq in the 2nd round. Hakeem and that Rockets squad was dominant. Even then if Jordan comes back to the Bulls after the Utah series, he isn't beating the Spurs either. That team was mentally and physically done.

I hate this casual narrative that Jordan could have won more if he didn't retire. The best thing to ever happen to Jordan was retiring and having the best GM in the league retool, and have the NBA wipe the tapes of that 2nd round loss by Jordan in 94

If Jordan never retired for a sport that had completely different training and stayed in basketball he would of at least challenged he Rockets in the finals and most likely beat them.

Everyone forgets that the Rockets barely beat the 1994 Knicks in the Finals 4-3 while Michael Jordan beat the exact same team in 1993 in the eastern conference finals 4-2.

Then Michael Jordan beats the Sonics in the 1996 NBA finals 4-2 when the Sonics legit swept the Rockets 4-0 the same year which maintained the same core players just 1 year older.

No one will ever know if MJ could have easily won more finals but there's a good chance he at least wins 1 finals in 1994, 1995, or 1999 if MJ never retires.

You'd have to be braindead, stupid, or mentally fookin autistic to not even admit this. Or just be an extremely homo sexual that has strong feels for Lebron James. (Srs)
He scored 55 in MSG before the playoffs and still averaged over 30PPG in the playoffs. He was back. People find excuses all over the fukn place for Jordan consistently. That Orlando team was better because the Bulls didn't have Rodman to help neutralize Shaq, that's why they lost. Rodman is arguably the greatest defender in NBA history and INARGUABLY the greatest rebounder of all time, they needed him on their championship run.

They weren't getting over the hump with their current roster construction after Horace Grant and Bill Cartwright left in 94 and Paxson retires. Horace Grant was another difference in that Orlando series and Jerry Krause knew he needed to counteract that. NOT JORDAN, Jerry Krause.

I would consider defense to be talent in which Brady clearly had better talent. So no. And yeah as the guy said, Peyton is 3-1 vs. Brady in the AFC Championship games.

To me its really simple:

Who was a more all around dominant player at their respective sports, Jordan or Brady?

Who was more influential on their team's success, Jordan or Brady?

It really isnt a contest IMO, as clearly Jordan wins in both. I agree that no football player can be considered greater than Jordan simply because no football player can dominate all aspects of the sport, but a basketball player can.

This would be the equivalent of Brady intercepting the ball on the last minute and then making a hail mary pass on the next play. Simply cant happen
The difference is that Brady is also a leader off the field. If you put another qb that plays exactly like Brady on the bucs, the bucs wouldn’t even make the playoffs.

It’s more than just being a good individual player in a game like football.

Who is stopping Hakeem in that series? Phil Jackson doesn't like to double and he would have DOMINATED inside the paint and put up multiple 40 point explosions. Jordan and Pippen were able to take advantage of smaller guard focused teams, and I know that the Knicks had their battles with the Bulls in the EC...... but fukn Hakeem IS NOT Patrick Ewing. I think that 94 series may have been one of their tougher series they ever played honestly.. which just shows you how sad and watered down the NBA was in that era

But in the end, MJ quit.. or was suspended, whichever way you want to look at it he wasn't available and that was on him. He stated multiple times he was mentally and physically drained. Can you imagine LEBRON JAMES saying this after what happened to end his run in Cle??

Accomplishments and dominance, yes... but its thr NFL so no. No NFL athlete can EVER be the GOAT athlete. They only play one side of the ball. If somehow a GOAT tier DB was also the GOAT tier QB/RB whatever then yes maybe

This is why Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders are considered next level GOAT athletes cause they were amazing in 2 different sports... Deion was also able to play both CB the best anyone has ever played it, while also playing a little bit of WR for the Cowboys
